The last third of this book was impossible to put down. It did take me quite a bit to get invested at first, though. But the realistic-ness of this story was what was so very scary about it.

Was I supposed to sympathise with these characters? My least favourite of Pomare's books.

Not only was the background plot bonkers, but the whole ending of... well I guess we horrifically murdered a completely innocent man but everything's gonna be alright now, I guess we've both done bad things lol" was... pretty out there.

New fear unlocked…

This book was so dark and twisty. It was scary but in a ‘wow that’s so realistic and could definitely and probably is happening at the moment’ kind of way. It’s changed the way I will look at airbnb and hotels and i read this book so incredibly quick. It was amazingly fast paced and I loved it a lot. Will definitely be reading more of his books.

I think this has been my favourite book I’ve read this year.

Update: I read this book MONTHS ago and was not exaggerating about it unlocking a new fear. I am so on edge staying at air bnb & hotels now because of this book 😂🤦🏼‍♀️
