This story happens immediately after A New Hope. The Empire is reeling from the lose of the Death Star, and the rebels are desperately trying to make up for its loss.
I think the strongest part of the story was seeing the anger and frustration Princess Leia felt after losing her plant to Darth Vader, something that never quite made an appearance in the movies.
It was also interesting seeing some of the conflict within Luke, who is still trying to figure out if he really even is a Jedi.
Overall worth a read, it's fun, it's quick, and tell an interesting in between story.

Entertaining read. Feels a tad harmless compared with the 2013 - 2014 SW series from Dark Horse but still delivers an exciting adventure.

So thrilled to see that this run is as good as the first time read it.

Overall a good tie-in story between movies IV and V with neat art. Lots of Han-Leia bickering and flirting and Luke-angst.

The art and characterization are really nice in this comic.
The plot is a bit weak and it feels like a set up for a bigger sequel (I think maybe the Darth Vader series is supposed to come right after this one, and I've heard that one's good)
This one isn't bad though. I wouldn't buy it, but if you like Star Wars, you might want to check it out just to flip through it for the art. It's really cool how much the art resembles the cast from the movies, but is still a classic comic book style.

Good fun Star Wars action. I hope that going forward this story doesn't lean too heavily on mirroring events from the movies. For example, I'm disappointed Luke and Vader had a confrontation so early on. It kind of cheapens their duel in ESB (kind of how Splinter of the Minds Eye did in the old Legends canon. At least Splinter was so bad you could pretend it didn't exist...). Also, I hope they don't fall into the trap of having the 3 main heroes save the universe every few months. Part of the texture of the movies is that the heroes felt like they were one part of the larger Rebel Alliance. Other characters, sometimes unnamed or even not featured on screen, got their chance to contribute to the cause. For example, the Rebel pilot that destroyed the Executor in ROTJ. In the poorer Legends stories Han, Luke, and Leia basically do everything themselves, including finding the location for the next Rebel Base or stealing the plans for the Empires next superweapon. I want to see new stories, not fill in the gaps between ANH and ESB to show how everything happened. For example, I'm curious to see how this revelation about Han Solo plays out.

Fantastic! A great graphic novel of the rebellion years! Classic heroes and villains return and the gaps in the movies begin to be filled in. I highly recommend this one.

This volume is two quite different stories in one. Bot that that's bad, things happen then other things happen, but it's also a "story" of two stories of varying quality. The Imperial assault in the first half is enjoyable, but feels much like the rescue/escape from A New Hope. The characterization is good and the writing is fine, but it's pretty dull as a whole. The second half on the other hand is both thrilling and interesting. The more relaxed and character-driven scenes are expertly written and the art createsgreat atmosphere and sunning scenes. The two stories bouncing around are both extremely interesting, and while neither is resolved, they're both exciting and do a great job of upping the stakes fo the next volume.
