I loved the Artemis Fowl series. Intricate plots, lovable characters, hilarious dialogue, and the magical/technological world of the Lower Elements. My only reservation about Artemis is that it didn't age as well as other series. Compared to a series like Harry Potter, the Fowl Series does not significantly change in writing style or thematic approaches. However, that's pretty much a moot point, seeing as the entire series has already been published. Any new, young readers won't notice that, so long as they read them quickly. Again, the series was fantastic and all the books have their own merits.

A fitting end to the series. It was perhaps a little short but nevertheless intricate and well paced. I'm really going to miss Artemis Fowl and Co. after reading about them for nearly 10 years!

Either that boy is the sanest creature on Earth, he thought, or he is so disturbed that our tests cannot even begin to scratch the surface.

I was an emotional wreck near the end of this. Dammit, Eoin Colfer, even if your writing has faltered since the first book of this series, you do still manage to do great things with compelling characters.

This is the last in the series and I was expecting more. It felt half-hearted to me. This book was mostly exposition, full of implausibilities and outside of the occasional scene with Mulch rather dull. Definitely a whimper rather than a bang.

I was sad to read this last adventure with Artemis. I like him. I like Butler and Holly. Mulch is disgusting, I'm just going to say it; for all the times he saves the day I never really enjoyed reading about him or his bowels. But I'm not a school-aged boy, which is ostensibly the target audience of that particular character. This book probably got more stars for how neatly it wrapped up and ended the series that it would have if it were in the middle of the series and the plot had to stand for itself.
Likes: I like Artemis being Artemis. I like his little brothers they make me laugh.
Dislikes: The main reason I'm happy to be done with this series is I will never have to read another book with Opal Koboi as the villain. She's so annoying, one dimensional, and psychotic she never surprises you or gives you a reason to want to read about her. She's singularly boring and unpleasant.

Not bad, but I think the series was definitely dwindling by this point. I probably would have packaged it as 6 books instead of 8. The last two were mostly meh. Still, nice to have some closure on such a great series.

Es el gran final a una saga que he leído de joven y he terminado de adulto. Como conjunto es muy recomendable.
Y el final es de los que hacen daño.
