I loved the Artemis Fowl series. Intricate plots, lovable characters, hilarious dialogue, and the magical/technological world of the Lower Elements. My only reservation about Artemis is that it didn't age as well as other series. Compared to a series like Harry Potter, the Fowl Series does not significantly change in writing style or thematic approaches. However, that's pretty much a moot point, seeing as the entire series has already been published. Any new, young readers won't notice that, so long as they read them quickly. Again, the series was fantastic and all the books have their own merits.
