I mostly checked out this book because I saw it as a suggestion for people who enjoyed The DUFF so I read the series a little out of order and will probably go back and read the first book soon.

The book moved a little too quickly for my taste and felt much like it was over before it even began. However it was cute, fast read that does a great job of recreating a realistic high school environment full of heartfelt teen angst and drama. The characters were interesting and the story was overall a good read.

I read the first book in the series not a long while ago. It was quite a cute contemporary read, though not the best. But I was definitely excited for the second book, because I felt I would like Harper more. In more ways than not, I did.
Harper has always been the good girl all her life. She has followed the rules, had the perfect boyfriend. But when the school couples her with Brody for the Perfect Couple That Never Was, everything changes. For her and for Brody. And finally Harper might realize that the only thing that is making her to find her true self has always been there all along.
As always, the characters are absolutely adorable. I just love the way they talk and behave and they sound like normal teenagers with all the insecurity and angst. It was absolutely refreshing to read something that felt so real. Then, there's Harper. Although she was not as goody-two-shoes as I pictured her to be, she was still likable. Not always, though. She made very, very stupid decisions that she knew she would regret afterwards.
Then, there's Kaye and Sawyer. I LOVE both of them and I literally cannot wait to read their book, which will be the next one in this series. The romance in this book is sizzling hot at times, but absolutely cringe-worthy at other times. I didn't know why the characters did what they did, I wanted to jump into the book and slap some of them. Otherwise, the romance was quite cute.
This book is definitely a very cute and fluffy contemporary read. I definitely liked it better than the first book and thankfully it didn't have the second-book-in-a-series syndrome and it turned out better than I hoped it would be. I am patiently waiting for the third book :)

This is a trimmed down version of my review, to view the full review visit The Book Ramble.

Brody and Harper have been voted "Perfect Couple That Never Was", but they don't see it. They're both confused about why people voted for them. Despite this, Harper has a major crush on Brody. He has many admirers though, and Harper has a boyfriend. The thing is, they kind of want to give it a shot. So they take a shot, and realize they may not be perfect, but maybe they're just right, and isn't that what's really perfect?

I liked this book, I'm sad because I didn't love this book. I remembered loving Biggest Flirts, but maybe I didn't love it either. I liked the characters, and the idea, but I found the plot kind of confusing and a little irritating sometimes. I think it was good, it's a nice palate cleanser, and I enjoyed reading it, but it's far from perfect.

I liked Harper. I thought that her backstory was interesting. Her parent's bitter ongoing divorce really had a big effect on her personality and made her this reserved person who cares what people think of her. It also meant she had anxiety. Brody also feels this intense pressure to be more but it's not something he can really just do. I liked these pieces of him, they made sense and they worked. A lot of other stuff that happened and pieces of them...didn't make sense. Things like their tryst on the beach and the raving jealousy and revenge attempts all seemed out of place. In fact they seemed exactly like Tia in the previous book. Which was not great, because everyone started to feel the same.

These inconsistencies kind of spin off from the plot inconsistencies. I'm a big fan of the Superlatives having an effect on the characters, I think it's really interesting. I also love the idea of two people who seem wrong for each other discovering how right they are. I feel like, maybe, the plot descriptions I read of this book didn't match the book though. It says they don't get along, I figured like arguing and discomfort (think Sawyer and Kaye) but it was more of a Tia-Will connection, with lots of flirting and not a whole lot of disagreements. The inconsistencies are mostly because the plot seems to run away with itself. Things get dramatic in the high-school-drama-that-makes-no-sense way.

The thing is, I still liked the book. I still found it cute, and sweet. It's so easy for me to point out the flaws because they're much easier to expand on. But honestly Brody and Harper are cute, they are a sweet couple, the book is adorable. I really liked it. If you like Kasie West, or other books by Jennifer Echols, this book is totally in the right vein.

3.5.... maybe 4 stars
I actually enjoyed reading this more than the first, I already had a nice feel for most of the characters and their personalities and it was nice to see some other characters shine in this installment, particularly one character who's going to be popular in the next book so I'm kind of excited to start that one

This one definitely wasn't as fun as the first one. Harper was so serious and self-conscious! She was so easily swayed by public perception.

I was also really frustrated by her hypocrisy. If you're so against something based on family experience, then why do the same thing to someone else? Taking it even further, why get mad when someone does it back? Don't dish it if you can't take it.

I wish I knew Brody better. He just seemed like the perfect "model" boyfriend with nice green eyes. What about his personality? He kept getting described as reckless, but none of his actions backed that up. Also, I hated the "love triangle" aspect. What's the point when you turn one guy into a villain? It's no fun when they have no redeeming qualities. I wish I understood more about why Harper and Kennedy got together in the first place.

Of all people, I feel like Sawyer was the most developed character here, and he was definitely my favourite. There were some real comedic gems with him! It makes me excited for the sequel, but I sincerely hope that we don't get more of the same "one-guy-is-awesome and the-other-one-sucks" (yeah, I'm talking about you, Sawyer and Aidan).

Also, I need more Tia and Will. They were so kooky and fun!

My excitement for Sawyer's book is over the top. I CANNOT WAIT.

Let's not talk about this one though, I'm not happy.

It was a yummy romance, which got a bit boring at the end :)
