Honestly, this was the stupidest book i have read in a reallyyyyy long time. I laughed out loud on nearly every chapter! Very entertaining and very dumb. In this one scene, there are these two boys who say they have an "announcement" for the class, then stand in front of everyone and say "Guess what? We're dating! We're gay." And the girl who tells the story brings "coming out" cupcakes for the class with pictures of their actual faces as cupcake toppers.
I found this scene so out there and quite amusing hahaha

I have to admit, I was pretty curious to start Perfect Couple by Jennifer Echols. I read Biggest Flirt last year, and enjoyed the book, despite some issues that I had with the main character. I was eager to see what was going to happen with the next couple, Harper and Brody.
Perfect Couple picks up just a few days after Biggest Flirt leaves off, but it’s a whole new set of characters this time around. Harper is a senior, and photographer for the high school yearbook. Brody is the star quarterback of the high school football team, who Harper has had a crush on for forever. When they are paired as ‘The Perfect Couple that Never Was’ for the high school yearbook, and at the insistence of her best friends, Harper decides to find out if the school is right about their choices.
I found Harper to be a relatable character because she was a self-proclaimed introvert, much like me, who needed her quiet time away from people every so often. Also, she loves photography and that’s another of my most favorite hobbies. I felt a connection to her because of this. There were a few things in the novel that she did that kind of drove me crazy, but otherwise she was a likeable character. I enjoyed watching her grow throughout the novel, and to go after what she wanted in life. And to go after Brody, who is the love interest in the novel. Brody is oh-so-swoonworthy, but not without issues of his own. While they didn’t get off to the best start, it was interesting to watch their relationship grow. I really liked Brody. Ms. Echols’ has a knack for writing really adorable male characters.
The storyline for the book followed along the same line as the previous book. The story was a super quick and fun to read, but it also dealt with a lot of the issues that teens face today, like sex and peer pressure. I liked that the book had different main characters, but we also get to see the characters from the previous book as well. I enjoyed seeing them all again. Also, I loved the photography aspects in the book, it helped me to connect with the story even more.
Overall; Perfect Couple was another charming addition to The Superlatives series. I’m super curious to see what’s going to happen in the next book between Kaye and Sawyer!
Happy Reading!

Perfect Couple is #2 in the Superlatives series about seniors at a Florida high school who are selected for their class's superlative categories in the yearbook, and how the labels change the way they view themselves and alter the course of their lives.
Can your heart be put to a popular vote?
As yearbook photographer, Harper is responsible for capturing those candid moments that make high school memorable. But her own life is anything but picture perfect. Her parents' bitter divorce has left her wondering what a loving relationship would look like. And ever since the senior class voted her and star quarterback Brody the “Perfect Couple That Never Was,” her friends have been on her case to ask Brody out.
Brody doesn’t lack in female admirers, but Harper can't see herself with him. He seems confused about why they were matched together, too. They’re total opposites—the last people in the world who would ever be compatible, let alone the “perfect couple.” Yet ever since the class paired the two of them, they've found themselves drawn together--first by curiosity, then by an undeniable bond.
The trouble is, though they're very attracted to each other and both of them admit this, they have a hard time getting along or even communicating clearly. If they’re the perfect couple, this shouldn’t be so difficult! Soon it becomes clear their class was wrong, and they throw in the towel. But after they walk away, both of them feel so changed from making the effort that they can’t forget each other. What if that means this match made in hell is the perfect couple after all?
I can tell why so many love Jennifer Echols they are addictive, always filled with drama, suspense and of course, romance. I know I said this about few books, but this is type of series that you won’t want to put down, no matter what. Every page, sentence had me craving for more. I love Echol’s writing style; she has a way with details, which hooks you from the start till the very end. Readers won’t be able to help themselves but fall in love with the characters and get captivated in the story. I know that I was. There was even few times where I found myself reading before work, during my break because I couldn’t get enough, I needed what was going to happen next. I was curious to see if Harper would actually end up with Brody. Perfect Couple seemed more intense, with more drama going on then first book in series Biggest Flirts which I read over the summer. My type of a book.
I wasn’t sure if I liked Harper & Brody’s relationship at first. That was mostly because of Brody, it was hard for me to like him for half of book, of how he acted and how he treated the girls. What he did, to me I had feeling that he used them and once he got tired of them, he ditched them. I was afraid that it’s what he might do with Harper and I liked Harper, didn’t want for her to get hurt. There were quite intense, steamy moments between the two of them though the book and I felt that it was only reason he was hooking up with her, that Brody just wanted one thing from Harper. Maybe at first I didn’t see an actual attraction between two of them, I felt like two of them were hooking up because they got voted for Perfect Couple. As the book progressed, I could clearly see that two of them cared deeply for one another. Even after they found out there were mix up in voting, that it happened by a mistake. I waited for Harper to come to her senses, Brody too and see that two of them belonged with each other. Despite their differences, the two of them had a connection, a bond. All through the book I was rooting for them and was eager to see where their relationship would lead next.
It’s not often I disliked characters in books, but it this case there were two characters I couldn’t bring myself to like. Kennedy. I hated how controlling he was, and mostly how he treated his own girlfriend. He didn’t treat her like a girlfriend half of the time, he was mad half of time, bossy. I didn’t know what Harper even saw in him. Especially way he treated her because she broke up with him, which was not right and not fair to Harper. However, I was glad that she finally stood up to him; she shouldn’t let him treat her like this to begin with. I was glad to see what was coming for him. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t bring myself to like him in any shape or form; I kind of hoped that he would end up getting fired from yearbook after the stunt he pulled with Harper. And of course Harper was my favorite in this book, she was caring, responsible. She’s a type of person that I would be friends with. I was happy to see that she got her happily ever after.
Series worth every page. Loved that it had expert from the next book Most Likely To Succeed Sawyer’s book who I learned to love while reading Perfect Couple, I can’t wait to read his & Kaye’s story. See what’s in store for them.

Better than 'Biggest Flirts' (characters from Biggest Flirts are also more likeable in this book). There's some character development that builds on top of the last book, but much like the preceding novel, this book probably could've done with an altered allocation of spotlights, and there are certain aspects that would've been more interesting to focus on.

Perfect Couple is the second book in the Superlatives series. In the first installment, Biggest Flirts, we were introduced to Tia and two of her best friends, Harper and Kaye. At the beginning of their senior year, the class voted and everyone was awarded a title...most athletic, most likely to succeed, etc. Harper and Brody were voted "Perfect Couple that Never Was."
Harper is the yearbook photographer and is a bit of a free spirit. She likes to dress in retro clothing and is very creative and artistic. Brody is the star quarterback. Why the senior class voted them the perfect couple is beyond them, but it peeks their curiosity and they start hanging out. They soon discover they have great chemistry and quite a bit in common. Perhaps their classmates were right after all and they really are the perfect couple! Of course, it isn't that easy. There are a number of situations they must work through if they are going to achieve their happily-ever-after.
This is another really cute story with all of the wonderful characters we were introduced to in Biggest Flirts. We get to see how Tia and Will are doing now that they are officially a couple. We also have a chance to learn more about many of the secondary characters such as Sawyer, Noah, Quinn, and Kaye. There is quite a bit of high school drama and the book brings up a number of topics that are relevant to teens today. With the constant peer pressure at school, it isn't always easy to be yourself. This book allows teens to explore and consider how they would act or react in various situations. Some characters handle situations appropriately while others do not.
This was a light, entertaining, and fast read. I can't wait to read the next installment, which appears to focus on Kaye and her superlative partner, who were voted Most Likely to Succeed. They have been a couple for the past few years, but don't really seem to gel in my opinion. I am really hoping she will see the light and start dating another character in the series.

I've been a fan of Jennifer Echols for quite awhile now. I was ridiculously excited about the Superlatives series. It just sounded fun. Biggest Flirts was a good read, but Perfect Couple was far more my speed. It was so very close to being a five-star book for me!
I found myself able to connect with Harper nearly immediately. It was partly because she's a photographer, but mostly because she was just real and likable. She wasn't conceited or too shy. I liked that she didn't fall into either extreme. She was a talented photographer with a boyfriend who was far less than charming. Brody was adorable and, as far as Harper was concerned, out of her league... regardless of what their classmates thought. There was definitely a sizzle of a connection between them, even though they were both at least somewhat involved with other people. I couldn't help but cheer them along as they navigated the waters of high school and their growing attraction to each other.
I won't say much more because this book is best experienced and not spoiled. What I will say is that Perfect Couple was pretty much the perfect book for me when I read it. It was fun, charming and sweet... and the very best of what I've come to expect from Jennifer's writing. I'm even more excited about reading the next book in the Superlatives series now. I can't wait for Kaye and Sawyer's story!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.

I have been waiting for this book since I read Biggest Flirts (Superlatives #1) last year. I thought that because I read the first book, I knew this world, its dynamics and the people in it. I was wrong.
From the beginning you can tell this is a very different book. Harper's world is far from Tia's (and much more slow paced), I found myself thrown. In the first few chapters Harper is having a very submissive attitude towards life and doing whatever people want of her. Especially her boyfriend, Kennedy, who I didn't like from his first appearance. I thought to myself "This dude doesn't likes her enough or he got no game", either way it's not reason enough to put her down all the time just so he could feel better because things at home were bad. And it was very frustrating to watch her just letting him do it. I was glad to see him go. Bye bye, and good riddance.
Another part of the story concentrates in Harper's likes and fashion sense. While I found her interest in photography and art genuine, the way she talks about her clothes made me think she was playing dress up. Putting on a costume to fit certain "persona" that she though she needed to be instead of showing herself for who she truly was. As she slowly starts to try new things, new clothes and activities, she eventually feels more comfortable with herself, gaining a confidence she lacked before.
You can argue all these changes were because of Brody. Because she was attracted to him and wanted his attention but I honestly believe -from what I gather from the book- Harper was off axis way before the Superlatives announcement. Her been paired with Brody as the Perfect Couple that Never Was just force her to face straight on what deep down was bothering her, to see her life through new eyes, to dare to do things and love people who she thought were out of her league. To finally stop selling herself short. And when she finally stood up for herself it was so satisfying.
Cheating also conforms part of this story. It comes in the form of Harper's parents divorce, Brody's parents divorce and how it affected them respectively. I don't feel like viewing Harper's actions in black and white, relationships are way more complicated than that. Putting aside the fact her relationship with Kennedy was doom since the day it had begun or the fact he was barely a boyfriend at all and that I found cheating unacceptable; I don't honestly think it was that big of deal she kissed Brody (twice) before breaking up with her boyfriend. The first time was pure impulse and curiosity. And, granted, the second time she should have known better, but it also lead to Brody and Harper having the talk (finally!) about what was going on between them.
Brody was a really interesting character. He was fun, smart and outgoing but he also had a depth to him that was refreshing. He shared it with Harper, of course, and the way he talked about her and to her made it feel like he thought the sun raised and set with her. Harper made him feel good about himself and it return he gave Harper that little push she needed to break the mold, to expand her world. Brody owned up to his mistakes immediately and went for what he wanted without hesitation. This made him a little of a daredevil but in the end by caring and taking care of Harper, he also learns to know his limits and take care of himself. They both supported and bring out the best in each other, and isn't that the best kind of love?
I was particularly glad to see Tia, Will and the rest of the gang again. And even more because they were part of the story, not just backdrop colorful characters popping out sometimes. The friendship this characters share is a beautiful support system and it shows.
As you can tell, I really enjoyed this story and in a few months the third book in the Superlatives series will be release and I can't wait to catch up with all these characters again. This time through Kaye's eyes and Sawyer's charming ways, it's going to be a good one.
