DNF

Having heard so many brilliant things about Echol's novels, I jumped at the chance to review one of her newest titles… lets just say I will not be in the near future! I love the covers in this series, they are adorable, fun and cute. I just could not wait to dive straight in.

When Harper is paired with Brody as the 'The Perfect Couple That Never Was', she cannot believe her luck. But with a deadline for year book photos coming fast, she must ignore her feelings for him and carry on with her job; but it is much harder than she expected.

Our main characters… oh dear. Harper, our main female protagonist, was one of the most frustrating female protagonists I have ever come across. She was selfish and seemed to like the attention, though
did not stand up for herself, always seeming to try too hard causing her to come across as incredibly annoying. The main thing is, she has a boyfriend, who she does not get on with but they are still together, and then goes off with a guy she barely knows and who has a reputation. This was the point that I gave up.

The plot was, though I did not expect it to be too original as I just wanted a light fluffy contemporary, was rather slow paced with some of the events occurring leaving you thinking, what?! Unless some of these are common in American Highschools, but judging from reviews I have read they are not. I felt there was no spark or pull to carry on, not to mention the whole creepiness of Harper constantly taking pictures of Brody. I mean, there is a line and she certainly crossed it by a mile.

Sadly, I had to DNF Perfect Couple halfway through as I could read no longer. A very disappointing read, however I will try to read another of Echol's novels, though I can say that I will not be rushing to read it next time.

This was a fantastic read. This one was funny and romantic. The story was sweet and honest. I thought the characters were funny, and relatable. Also, it was great to see more of Tia and Will.

I did enjoy their characters in the first book, so to see them still in the lovey-dovey mood. Can't wait to read Kaye and Sawyer's story next in Most Likely To Succeed. Overall, an amazing read.

More like 2.5 stars, it was okay, but it wasn't good nor great. It felt too fast most of the time and everything was rushed. It really had a nice plot but sadly the whole thing just didn't bring that out.

I'm so sorry but I tried. I tried so hard that I even hated myself for still bothering. This book is nothing but pure shallowness. There's cheating. Two main characters who don't feel even an ounce of remorse over their actions. Stupid dialogues and dumb decisions. Need I say more? I'll finish this review later after I nurse the headache this book just gave me.

Okay, I am definitely enjoying the heck out of this series! If you're looking for a set of fun, funny and fast contemporary ya romances to set your teeth into, these are a fabulous choice!

I loved Harper's story as much as I loved Tia, and Brody is officially swoon-worthy! It was just so much fun being in their world and their relationship, so much so that the hours just swam by and suddenly I was done!

That's not to say I didn't have some moral issues with the story, most of which have to do with the cheating aspect of it. It's not too major, but at the same time it's definitely not "nothing". Now, I'll be honest. It didn't bother me in the story. It didn't detract from my enjoyment, or anything of that sort. But in the back of my mind, I knew I should be bothered.

Echols does a great job making Kennedy, Harper's boyfriend, a douche. I honestly have no idea what a sweet girl like her did with him. He doesn't care about her, doesn't want to be near her (physically), goes into tantrums whenever things don't go his way and his spiteful and controlling. Grace, Brody's girlfriends, I didn't have too much of an opinion on, but she as well is painted unfavorably. So, I really didn't care about them.

But at the same time, I wanted our main characters, the people I did like, to be better than that. I wanted Harper
to break up with Kennedy long before she and Brody kissed. I wanted her to break up with him not because of Brody, but simply because he is a jerk. And when that didn't happen, I wanted her to break up with him immediately after kissing Brody because she knew she was cheating, and that that's not okay, instead of waiting until she and Brody were on the same relationship page before doing it. Being far more attracted to Brody and liking him far better than your boyfriend has nothing to do with dating Brody. Once the first happens, you break. especially when you live in a house where the father has constantly cheated on the mother.

But, again, this was something I knew to be wrong but at the same time didn't really make me enjoy this any less. And I really, really, really enjoyed this. I am super excited for Kaye and Sawyer's story since I love Sawyer so much!!

Not nearly as interesting as the first Superlatives book (Biggest Flirts), in large part because our narrator is far less compelling. Harper, an introverted photographer, is dating the yearbook editor, a guy who bosses her around and treats her like an idiot. She breaks up with him less because of the way he treats her, and more because the guy she's been paired with as "The Perfect Couple That Never Was," and whom she's been rather crushing on, starts to pay attention to her. The two have some ups and downs, but get over them pretty quickly.

Overall a highly enjoyable read. It's not perfect and the characters may occasionally make you want to bash your brains in, but I couldn't help but enjoy it anyway.

It has been a while since I've read the first book but I had no desire to dive back into that one before reading Perfect Couple. Call me strange and lazy all you want but sometimes you don't need to reread a book. Especially when some series have different main characters in every book. So, yeah, I took a huge risk of not diving back in the first book and just kind of winged it with this one.

In it, you will meet Harper and Brody. These two were voted for a superlative by their fellow peers. The perfect couple.. or the not so perfect couple due to them not dating one another. The couple that never happened and yet they are perfect for one another. I could go on and on here guys but I wont.

At first, this whole thing is a joke for them and is a bit awkward if I do say so myself. It also doesn't help that Harper can't stop thinking about it or Brody. So it didn't take long for feelings to eventually form and for my eyes to roll along with each dumb decision made.

They eventually had some cute moments but they seemed to be overrun by some dumb annoying ones. Or maybe I just can't stop thinking about them still. In the end, they were kind of cute and that's all I'm going to say about it.
