Really enjoyed this short, wise book. I will def re-read and listen to soak it up more

Absolutely adored this book. A short east read (and only two hours on audio book!) that really caused me to reflect on my marriage and on relationships as a whole. As a pastor, I plan on using this book in pre-marriage counseling with couples. Highly recommend.

Very simple, yet very insightful. It's an easy read, but one that I know I will return to in the future.

I read this for two reasons:
1 my wife had read it before
2 it's a two-hour audiobook
Seemed a little hokey, especially since the authors, a married couple, are kind of pretending it's a conversation between the two of them and you. At first, this was like when you ask a couple how they met and what their advice is for staying together. Then they just go off on a couple ramble for 2 hours. But it got a little better

Appropriate that I finished reading this book on Valentine's Day.
This book was hard for me to rate, because it didn't fit into the boxes I expect. It wasn't a Christian book about marriage. It wasn't a scientific or sociological study on marriage. It wasn't a self-help book on marriage. It wasn't purely anecdotal. It bridged a number of genres and format.
But I found myself mesmerized by it. There weren't a lot of new ideas in the book, but I appreciated the new presentation of the ideas, the way that sacred, exclusive, dynamic, and responsive marriages was framed in accessible, simple, and profound ways. I appreciated the honesty between Rob and Kristen, and yet the overarching theme that marriage is good, and it is worth it.
I think this is an interesting book because of it's accessibility, and I wonder if that's the whole point.

I find marriage books have been so cheesy and condescending but this book was inspiring and comforting to read leading up to my wedding. The concept of Zimzum resonated with me so deeply, and I think protecting and considering the space between us will be something we carry with us into our marriage.

A real interesting read and dig into relationships. The focus is on marriage, but could really be applied to any romantic relationship. Bell is a pastor but I didn't find the religious ouertunes too much until it got to the final chapter titled "Sacred," but even there I just kind of rolled my eyes a little. Made me think a lot about some previous relationships in a new way.

Yes! Zimzum baby; that's what it's all about! Excellent way of looking and thinking about marriage. Give me all the Bell books, I'll eat them all up.
