Quick easy read. Loved the recipes, can’t wait to try some. Defiantly need a box of tissues near you when reading the last half of the book. Borrowed this e-book from the SF public library it was wirelessly delivered to my Kindle – Nice ;)
I loved it! I really want to try the recipes at the end of the chapters.
3.5 stars
Lots of character development (maybe a little too much...) and sweet story. I didn't necessarily see what was coming, but once I did, the ending was fairly predictable. But still enjoyable overall!

Predictable, easy read. However, that is the reason I read books by authors like Jane Green sometimes.
I loved this warm, touching, yet heart-breaking book from cover-to-cover. As Steffi, the main character's younger sister is a chef, each chapter ends with a recipe. This sounds great, until you find yourself up well past your bedtime rushing to finish it, STARVING because all of the food sounds delicious. I especially enjoyed the nuclear family, extended family and friends of the family dynamics, and found that it had more heart that your average chick lit novel.
Vuosi maalla, suomeksi.
I love Jane Green and I haven't read a book of hers I haven't liked. A story line of tragedy, love and family. Good summer read for sure.
Heart wrenching but beautifully done. Jane Green writes with such authenticity, by the end you know and love her characters like your own friends. This is definitely not a beach read, but one not to be missed
Promises to Keep is the heartwarming and heart wrenching story of three women and their sister/friend/daughter who is dying of a very rare cancer after having survived breast cancer 5 years prior.
I loved the way Jane Green brought these four powerful, wonderful, loving, yet flawed women together at a time when they all needed each other. Ms. Green has a wonderful way of making the reader fall in love with her characters. They are all relate-able in their own right and when the story ends you want to keep them in your life for every for now they are your sisters, friends, daughters.
I recommend this book to anyone woman looking for not only a good story but a connection to four inspiring women.

This was an enjoyable read - though the ending was (girl finally figures out which boy is the right boy) and was not (tragedy strikes) what I expected. I liked that the author gave each sister equal billing. It didn't knock my socks off, but it was pretty good. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars if I could...
