Through the Looking Glass was an easy and pleasant read overall. I couldn’t help but notice how Disney’s animated classic really took the best parts of this book and sprinkled them into their adaptation of the original Alice in Wonderland. While the character arcs did evolve and it was nice to see their stories continue, I felt that this sequel was clearly geared towards a younger audience. As a result, it doesn’t quite hold up to the timeless charm of the original classic. Despite this, there’s still something endearing about following Alice’s journey through a world that’s both familiar and transformed.

For me, it’s a solid 3-star read—a decent continuation of the story.

I have to say the movies make sooo much more sense now that I've read the books... However, I didn't like Through the Looking-Glass as much as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. This one was a little weirder for me. I do love Carroll's style, though, and how he plays on words. The dialogue is fun and witty and I appreciate Alice, but sometimes I have a hard time believing she's only 7 (and a half, exactly) years old; she seems much more grown up than that...Is that the point? Is she just an overly intelligent child and that's how she's been able to create Wonderland/Looking-glass House, or is she just a silly child with an overactive imagination and gets left alone too much? (Where is her sister for all this fun time adventure? I suppose, as is mentioned, she's too "exact" for such imagination...) Anyway, I liked the book. It was fun, witty, comical. Glad I read it, finally, and I supposed I'll read it again at some point.

phenomenal. I love this so much. The Jabberwocky has always been a niche obsession of mine.

As a part of the canon of classic British children's literature, I think this is a must read for all lovers of books and its mark and influence on this genre should not go unnoticed (what am i even saying) but though very interesting to read,  this wasn't really for me, but I'm very happy I read it!

I am so confused....

This sequel to "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," brings Alice back into Wonderland. This time she encounters not only some of the same characters as before, but many more! Though very confusing at times, I feel that this book is a very important one for all young readers to read. There is such a rich fantasy world within these pages. You can use it for a variety of things, from poetry, studies on authors & illustrators, expanding on students interest of the movies, etc.

I’ve never read the children’s classics, nor have I had them read to me as a child.
I do like through the looking glass better than Alice’s adventure I think it’s more coherent. Though altogether, the whole story is still confusing to me 😂

“I can’t go back to yesterday because I was a different person then” - I got that tattooed on my arm. I love this book! I think I like it a little more than the first! I just love the experiences she went through in this one and how much more it made me think about life and my own journey!
