Through the Looking Glass was an easy and pleasant read overall. I couldn’t help but notice how Disney’s animated classic really took the best parts of this book and sprinkled them into their adaptation of the original Alice in Wonderland. While the character arcs did evolve and it was nice to see their stories continue, I felt that this sequel was clearly geared towards a younger audience. As a result, it doesn’t quite hold up to the timeless charm of the original classic. Despite this, there’s still something endearing about following Alice’s journey through a world that’s both familiar and transformed.
For me, it’s a solid 3-star read—a decent continuation of the story.
