Another World War 2 book that tore at my heart.

This must be the most raw and heart wrenching account of true World War Two events I have ever read. I had a hard time putting this book down and even when I did I thought a lot about what I'd read. Szpilman really captured the horrors of Warsaw and the feelings of the Jews in that time. It is truly incredible that he survived to tell about it.

This book will stay with me for a very long time. The harrowing experiences described were hard to read and digest. I normally read WWII fiction but a real life account of what happened really brings the truth home. Although difficult at times I couldn't stop reading it.

This is the best book I have ever read, I have no words.

“The life of a human being, let alone his personal freedom, is a matter of no importance. But the love of freedom is native to every human being and every nation, and cannot be suppressed in the long term. History teaches us that tyranny has never endured.“
