***I received an ARC of this book.***
I don't know how Nikki J Summers manages to do this to me with these books but once again I am absolutely in love with a Soldier.
If you haven't read the first two books, go read them now. This series is based around five men who act as vigilantes in their town, Brinton Manor. They call themselves the Soldiers of Anarchy. They live in an abandoned Asylum that they converted into a nightclub and home. The Soldiers help to exact justice when technicalities keep a person from doing the time they deserve.
Each book follows one Soldier giving us a glimpse into their past and why they are the way they are now.
In the Joker we finally dive into the mind of Colton and what I mind it is. I've been looking forward to this story since the beginning and it did not disappoint.
Colton is a cinnamon roll hidden in an egotistical homicidal maniac, so naturally I absolutely love him. His story is complex, traumatic, and really helps to bring him to life. He enjoys being The Joker of the group, and enjoys his life but Shelley is about to flip everything for him.
The dynamic between Shelley and Colton is done well with plenty of tension building and banter between these enemies. Shelley is a strong female main character with lots of sarcasm and snark that makes for funny dialogues between her and Colton. I loved the character growth with both of the main characters.
TL;DR: This is a slow burn, enemies to lovers, with a fantastic twisty plot, tension building, and good spice. The stories are interconnected but the books can be read as a standalone. I do recommend that you ready The Psycho and The Reaper before reading the Joker.

Colton is one of those characters that is so well written, he captured my attention since book one The Psycho. He has amazing one liners and is just the right kind of wrong, if you will, so I was going into this book with exceedingly high expectations, and Nikki J. Summers delivered with The Joker.
Colton King has not lived an easy life, there’s a reason why he is the way he is, and it’s dark and heartbreaking to read that story as it unravels from the mind of the child, Colton King. Tears were shed, and lightbulbs were turned on. It’s easy to root for Colton when you read his story and suffer in silence with him, which is exactly what I did with the read. Even though the burn was much slower than what I usually like, I was ready for Colton to find his match. I’m happy to report that she was worth the wait, matching his crazy at every turn!

It was okay for me
I am a DC fan and jumping into this, I knew it would tickle my fancy without being full blown DC Joker.
Sadly for me the story felt flat and just… meh.
I know a lot of people enjoyed this and the series but sadly I wasn’t a fan. I do hope others continue to enjoy reading it though!

I can't tell you how excited i was for Colton's story and let me tell you it did not disappoint!
I couldn't of imagined a better fit for Colton than Shelley! From the time you meet her she takes no sh*t from him. She stands her ground and really shows she's not scared of him.
As much as Shelley wanted to hate Colton he did win her over, not they she could resist his charm but she really did hate him at one point and i get that reason, and Colton sure didn't let that stop him.
I loved this book so much and seeing Adam and Liv again! And Devon and Leah!
I'm so looking forward to the next one and I'm hoping it's Will's story!

You’re beautiful when you fight me, but you’re fucking stunning when you submit”
K BYE, I dont need my sanity anyways, just take it Nikki.
.
Nikki got her little smut writing grippers right around my heart from the very first chapter. my little bby Colton! I loved the backstory into his little crazy mind and what/who shaped him into the man he is. I felt like Freud trying to psycho analyze my little Joker.
.
The way Colton and Shelley’s stories intertwine in the beginning, that they kind of were always connected just made it that much more delicious to me by the end.
.
ohhhhhh babyyyyyyyy SHELLEY. I’m a total slut for a bad ass female. I will shout it from the rooftops. The fucking banter these two have is unmatched, cause my girl aint about to give him an inch. I cracked up. The best part is that throughout the arguing, banter, jokes and button pushing moments they really do have a connection that is more than that. They fit, cause lets be real aint no other man putting up with Shelleys mouth and Shelley is the only woman who can knock Colty pie on his assss!!
what is it about a couple of sexy sarcastic assholes bantering that just riles me up so bad? in and out of the bedroom, might I add! wait, did Colton just become my favorite Solider?!

loved this & binged it to high hell

Colton doesn’t let things get at him and if by the off chance something does rattle his cage he doesn’t let anyone see until her ,Shelley .The minute their eyes lock they both feel a pull towards each other although Colton’s feelings might not be the same as Shelley’s as she hates him. Shelley hates him for something and he doesn’t understand what or why when he finds out he’s torn between anger, hate and another feeling he can’t determine. Loved this book I think Colton has knocked Adam off the top spot for me the angst between Colton & Shelley was palpable but so was the lust. Well done for another fantastic book Nikki and I’m looking forward to meeting the final two Soldiers.

I have throughly enjoyed this series. From learning about Adam and him find love to Devon and now Colton. I knew that all the soldiers had a rough up bringing and I thought Devons was gonna be the worst and it was in a sense but Colton's really shocked me. I understand the nickname and how he and the Masters will forever be tied whether both want it or not. Shelly works Colton like no one else and Colton returns it to Shelly like she loves to hate. This story is by far my favorite with Shelly getting her hands dirty unlike the other soldiers girls, granted the others know what goes on so they aren't oblivious to who and what they are and do. To find out about what made Colton into the Joker that he is and how he and Shelly have essentially always been connected read this story. It is a slow burn like the rest of the series you aren't going to get spice till almost the halfway point. I generally don't like slow burns cuz the plot isn't engaging but it is here and I will 'suffer (not suffer)' through an entire book of plot for Nikki and these men.
