This one was more plot forward which I appreciated.
I liked that the romantic conflict was wrapped up nicely for the reader about half way through, but the plot didn't just drop off like they are sometimes wont to do.
This book had so much going on, and so much riding on Danny and Mal working together that the tenuous cease fire they agreed to really got tested. Lots of pining and angst and sexy kisses to be found in this novel.
I loved that the bad guy was just a fuckin crazy dude. It really upped the stakes as far as the conflict went and I was so satisfied with the ending. loved that this was a duet and not a series. It was the perfect amount of books and pages and I wasn't left needing or wanting more. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you for the read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review.
There is so much going on with these characters, after all Mal isn't just the common crime boss Prometheus that Danny had believed, he has a sweeter shy side that only a few get to see that, Just as Danny isn't just the cop by day and Zeus by night as he takes on more responsibly to his home town even to the point of his own self control. Book one was just a the taste that hooked you in to their story as Mal and Danny come across a mutual agreement only to fall in to a trap that neither saw coming.  Book two has a more edge of your seat with the struggles and violence that Olympus city is brewing.
Everything felt like it was closing in on Danny, as his control is slipping, IA investigation and now a new enemy, that could be any and everywhere? Waiting on Hades to make his next move, With so much to loss. What started as just revenge fuelled lust was leading to more, ending what he has with Mal maybe just what Hades needs to push to drive Danny to the brink. Only once Mal learns the real motive behind Danny's sudden interest, will Mal still fight to keep the hero safe!

I very nearly quit this book when I was only about 15% in. In my review of the first book I expressed concern at the childish revenge Danny wanted to take on Mal. The idea that Danny is the worst of the worst because he wanted to make Mal love him, only to break his heart, is so ridiculous. I couldn’t handle it. By 15% into Lovesick Titans I thought I knew where it was going, and I was very very unhappy. The only reason I didn’t stop reading, shame on me, was because I’d already quit the two previous books. So, I pushed through my initial feelings of frustration and let Amanda Meuwissen take me on a ride.

The thing is, I wasn’t entirely wrong in what I thought would happen. It was ridiculous. Yet, I loved Danny and Mal’s relationship so much that by the end of the book I didn’t even care. I anticipated their every interaction, both positive and negative, and I rooted for them throughout the entire book. I thought the differences in Mal and Danny, the ways in which their good and bad balanced each other, made for a memorable romance. In both Lovesick Gods, and Lovesick Titans, they were the heart of the story, no matter how a reader feels about each specific twist in the plot.

It isn’t only about Danny and Mal though. They both had family, and superhero/villain teams which made up the secondary characters. I found them all nearly as interesting as our hero and antihero. In fact, I also loved how the villain teams and the hero teams weren’t your quintessential villains and heroes. Heroes can be dark, and villains can be good, and together they can be an unstoppable force!

This duology wasn’t perfect, though each readers idea of perfection is different so who am I anyway? It did hook me, in both installments, and I’d love to see more from this Lovesick world. I’m not sure that’s happening, so until I hear for sure I’ll just imagine a future where Mal and Danny are working together, maybe with a little surrogate/adopted Elemental daughter they adore.

After reading the previous book, I was super excited to find out how it would all end. I was especially curious to see how everything between Mal and Danny would play out. Unfortunately, though, I was kind of disappointed with it all.

The whole vibe was just so gloomy and angsty, it was almost a bit unpleasant. I mean, Danny was seriously in such a low place mentally, it often felt like the book was drowning in it.

Also, I understand of course why Mal felt so utterly betrayed, but I have to admit I felt frustrated with how long it took him to forgive Danny.
I definitely preferred their dynamic in the first book. They were obviously still very cute, but just.. not as interesting as before.

The general plot felt a little dragged out as well. It wasn’t anything new from what we saw in the previous book, and it became slightly repetitive.
I also have to mention that I just don’t quite understand why, during this entire series, it’s been such a big deal that Danny killed Thanatos? Like, hellooo, Thanatos killed so many people: it’s really not like I’m mourning the guy, and neither should anyone else. Some people deserve to die.

I love this series, but the author should have included trigger warnings in the beginning. This book treads heavily into the darkest aspects of depression and shouldn’t be read lightly.
