Forbidden, Part One, book 1 of the Luna & Sol Omegaverse series by Emilia Emerson @emailiaemersonauthor. Emilia is a new author for me.
I so adored this first book about Josie & her pack! I am so excited to read the next book!

This book very much focuses on the emotional relationships between pack Ashmore and Josie. Not a lot happens other than focusing on her trauma and her building herself back up with them.

DNF at 84%.
This book started out so well and I tried so hard to make it through - lots of hurt/comfort, varied alphas, plus sized heroine, interesting world building etc. but the heroine cries SO. FUCKING. MUCH. Once she meets her alphas she goes from a reasonably interesting character to such a limp noodle of a human I couldn't do it.
The alphas were boringly perfect (though I enjoyed their varied hobbies and the idea of their job) but I felt bad for them because Josie treated them so poorly. Also, I was excited for a plus sized omega but her her body image issues were so pervasive in her internal monologue that I walked away feeling gross in my body, not to mention it totally ruined the sex scenes.
Josie experienced the opposite of character growth over this (very long, very repetitive) book - she went backwards as a character and seemed totally uninterested in growing or moving forward.
Honestly, I would be willing to try the next book in the series to see if the next heroine has a spine, but I couldn't bring myself to finish this one.

I was reading some reviews on this and I think this might be in the “you either love it or hate it” category. Overall, I enjoyed the read and the vibe and will be reading more from Emilia.
Omegaverse (MFMM)
Instalove
Plus Size Rep (albeit comes with both very positive and very negative views for the story)
Cliffhanger
Fated mates
Check TW!
The story focuses on Josie, who is an omega living in a repressed society for women, specifically omegas. Big government has its hands in everything and wants to have total control over these omegas. Trauma and drama ensues, but she meets a very lovable pack of MMCs to help her work through her issues and to try to build her confidence and trust back.
I think what makes this a win in my eyes is the love, patience, and support you see displayed on page; like drinking a big cup of cocoa on a fall day. I understand at times there is a lot of psychological baggage she is working through and can get tedious for some as the book is over 500 pages (includes crying, whining, jealousy, fear, self-loathing, you get the picture). I thought it was worth the trauma dump to get it the gooey center. Now onto book 2!

Do you enjoy the complete and utter absence of a plot? Then this one is for you.
This is an omegaverse story and, likely, the first and last one I’ll ever read. The story is about Josie, an omega, (omega wolf? omega coyote? No clue they never shift into anything). Josie’s had it rough and has some serious trauma but she starts her story off strong willed and independent despite it all. That is, until the actual nanosecond she meets her alpha’s (3 to be precise, yes RH). Immediately she becomes a co dependent whiner who cannot be left alone for more than a minute without launching into a power house round of self depreciation. This literally continues for the next 500 pages or so where our dumpster fire of a Josie only talks about how fat she is or about how there is no way her alpha’s actually like her. If the intention here was to empower curvy girls to love themselves, I do not, in fact, feel empowered. I feel worse. The ENTIRE book is these guys worshipping her, catering to every whim, and constantly asking her if she’s ok. News flash: she’s never ok. At one point I felt for the alpha’s, like “Hey guys. Blink twice if you need help.” They proceeded to spend their days giving her snacks, “knotting” her and napping. I mean sounds fun for a novella but not for a 500+ page book.
Two ⭐️’s just for the cute British alpha and the one that was into BDSM.

I listened to this one on audible (they did a great job). Here's my review from there:
I always love a good suspense but add in a sprinkle of abuse & corruption & it really makes an intriguing story. The only downside to the story was the governmental corruption almost made it too real for me with our current American political climate. I guess the other con (of pro & con) is the alphas in this story took to the main female, Josie, right away- I usually like a good pull & tug that eventually brings the group together.
Other than that- it was good story of Josie learning how to be true to her Omega status, learn to love her guys & trust them. The book left on a great cliff-hanger. The book also made me want the main characters fight back against all the injustice the Designation Government & her family was forcing on everyone, especially Omegas. Can't wait for the next audio book to release!

This had potential but really missed more than it hit. I 100% understand that Josie was traumatized but sometimes she was just annoying. Mostly toward the end when it was fully established that she was loved & she loved them. I guess I didn't understand her hesitancy to bond. Especially when it would only bring them closer & keep her better protected.

Dragged on and on
I wish this was half the length because it definitely got super boring.
Not a terrible book just drawn out too much.

The first twenty percent of the book and the last one percent of the book were great, but everything else in between was honestly just written for the sex, some people are totally down for that, but because I was so cute hooked to the story in the beginning, it was a letdown. If someone could tell me what happens in part two, that would be great.I just can't commit to reading it
