I originally was drawn to this book by the idea of it being set in the North Pole and the potential for found family. Unfortunately, I found both these ideas to be lacking. Don't get me wrong- is it set in the North Pole? Do they visit around town? Yes. However, those scenes were VERY short and gave me nothing to grasp on to. I was interested to learn more about Ivy's family backstory since a key part of the book was that she didn't have a family growing up moving from foster home to foster home. We get a short scene with her grandma and that's pretty much it?! She doesn't really get to know anyone during her stay at the North Pole besides Teddy. Even in parts where I thought we could get more interaction with the community, it was a paragraph long and then they would leave.
There are some elements of this that I did like. For instance, I loved the goal list they made to make Ivy's Christmas special. I just needed more from the story than I got.
Overall, this wasn't for me.

I could not wait to read this book and it did not disappoint!
The perfect sweet and spicy holiday read with a bit of magic. Teddy will be your new Christmas book boyfriend. He is a boy obsessed. But don’t let his sweetness fool you, Santa’s heir has a filthy mouth. You cant help but love Ivy from page 1. She’s sassy and deserved the world. The banter and tension was top tier. A must read for this holiday season.

This was absolute perfect dose of holiday magic, and I was kicking my feet the entire time. Ivy and Teddy were wonderfully captured. I loved the premise of the Santa Claus enterprise, and I am such a sucker for a Christmas list, and in this case, a Christmas bucket list. Like, how fun is that?! Going through the emotions with Ivy in stages as she realized who she was, what she left behind, and what she was finding, as well as opening her heart again, was a ride I would take again and again. Teddy was absolutely amazing, definite holiday book boyfriend material. And guys, the baking? The baking?!? That’s almost as good as fake dating in my book! Full of spicy scenes and sweet moments and good, old-fashioned holiday magic, Elfemies to Loveds is truly a fantastic way to jumpstart your holiday season a few weeks early, and I assure you it’ll put you right in the mood! I read it in a day and the next day I started wrapping presents. Grab your cocoa and get to reading!

It was fine. Nothing special. It was decent enough that I will still read Jennifer Chipman’s other series, Academically Yours. But, altogether the book was just like… BOOM. INSTALOVE. Sometimes thats hard for me but I can get on board if it’s well written and I love the characters but I just wasn’t obsessed with either of these characters. We love a boy so down bad for his girl, though. Even if the premise of this story was WILD. Solid spice scenes, and good tension but there wasn’t very much build up.
