Paljon somessa hehkutettu nuortenkirja. Sopi juuri hyvin jouluaikaan, koska tapahtumat osuvat juurikin jouluun.

Hilarious Holiday family tale
I absolutely loved this story. It was so funny and sweet. The family component gave it that something extra. Sprinkle in the life long friends and it was just perfect.

This is the perfect ya rom com. Just enough teen antics, realistic language, and just great character dynamics.
The only issue for me was the Instagram posts. It was giving Snapchat but the author made it sound like it was IG? It’s a nit pick for sure, but that would be my only down

I THINK I JUST FOUND A NEW FAVORITE YA CONTEMPORARY BOOK!!
I recently downloaded Scribd because I wanted to see if audiobooks worked for me. I decided to start with the audiobook of this book and let’s just say that this book made me want to listen to audiobooks all the time. This book is fun and lighthearted and will definitely bring a smile to your face.
In this book we follow Sophie who is looking forward to spending Christmas break with her boyfriend. However Sophie´s plan goes terrible wrong after her boyfriend decides to break up with her because she is no longer any fun. Devastated she goes to her grandparents’ house were her grandmother decides to set her up on 10 blind dates in order to cheer her up.
First of all I have to say that the family dynamics are crazy and perfectly represented I come from a big family like Sophie so to see them done so well was very exciting. I loved this book. I really enjoyed watching Sophie go through all the dates, some less awkward than others but all equally as fun. This book is greatly written and has amazing character development as this book is not only about love, but is also about family and friendship.
This book had so many positive things about it, you had the light and fluffy date shenanigans but you also had important family issues that contrast the fluffy subjects with more serious ones. Another positive things for me is that you know who the love interest is going to be really early in the story. I love when books make it obvious who the love interest is going to be, that way you have more time to ship their relationship and fall in love with them. And even though you know who the love interest is going to be, it is slow burn and you spent half the book just going “get together already”.
I would totally recommend this book, it is the perfect Christmas read that will just leave you feeling all the things and get you pump for the holidays. It has been weeks and I still think about this book on a regular basis and I will most like it re-read it when the holidays are near.
So my advice is: stop whatever you are doing and go get yourself a copy of this book.

If the film rights to this book haven’t been bought then they should be. What is not to love about this book. A hilarious Italian family who are loud and the only thing they love more than the big family dinners they have is getting involved in each other’s business. The person that is being subjected to scrutiny this Festive season is Sophie, newly broken up with her boyfriend the family decide to get together and send her on 10 blind dates ending on New Years Eve, with side betting on the side as to how quickly Sophie will end the date or whether she will use her one free pass hilarity ensues and what is in essence a YA book anyone who just needs their spirits lift would love this book.

I needed something lighthearted so I opted for a YA novel. Because the genre was YA the storyline sometimes felt cheesy and often unbelievable. Regardless it was a cute, quick read and exactly what I needed.
