Acerbic and laugh out loud hysterical. I love Samantha Irby so much. I picked up "We are Never Meeting in Real Life" at an airport years ago, and have been obsessed with her since.

DNF @18%. Samantha Irby is entertaining, but her books are sort of stream-of-consciousness in an aimless way. Enjoyable, but lengthy and not much different from her previous work.

Some of these essays had me cackling while I was walking. Some had me checking how much time was left (ahem, Lesbian Bed Death). Might pick up her first book for more background, and will be watching Shrill.

3-3.5 stars. Laughed out loud during some essays, while others felt like they dragged needlessly long with redundant self-depreciation. Overall smart, funny, enjoyable. First Sam Irby I’ve read; curious to read past works.

Not giving stars, as I just couldn’t get into it - not that it was bad, it just wasn’t my thing.

Although I pretty much only read fiction, this was one of the best books I’ve ever read
Hilarious and touching, I have to go inhale her other books now.

This was my audiobook for walks and long drives over the past couple of months. As a result, I skipped around a whole bunch depending on day and mood. It definitely fit the bill, though sometimes listening felt like talking with a friend who’s always retelling the same stories (me lol). 4/5

I rarely laugh aloud reading books, but this book had me cackling in public on multiple occasions. Fantastic read. Samantha Irby is a gem.

Someone I follow on IG recommended this one with wild abandon, and while I have 25 books waiting in queue on Libby (not an exaggeration), I downloaded it and began reading it that very night.

Funny doesn’t begin to describe Samantha Irby’s essays. Heartbreakingly honest? Yes. So honest they make you wince? Also yes. They’re laugh out loud funny at the same time because though she could not have more different life experiences than me, somehow her views are exactly what I’m thinking in my head (polite society would blush if spoken aloud).

She’s someone I could be friends with-and I mean that in the highest form of flattery, in the I-can-count-on-one-hand-how-many-*true*-friends-I-have kind of compliment.

Wow, No Thank You was just the kind of book I needed at this particular juncture of my life.
