Wow, No Thank You. by Samantha Irby

4.0

Someone I follow on IG recommended this one with wild abandon, and while I have 25 books waiting in queue on Libby (not an exaggeration), I downloaded it and began reading it that very night.

Funny doesn’t begin to describe Samantha Irby’s essays. Heartbreakingly honest? Yes. So honest they make you wince? Also yes. They’re laugh out loud funny at the same time because though she could not have more different life experiences than me, somehow her views are exactly what I’m thinking in my head (polite society would blush if spoken aloud).

She’s someone I could be friends with-and I mean that in the highest form of flattery, in the I-can-count-on-one-hand-how-many-*true*-friends-I-have kind of compliment.

Wow, No Thank You was just the kind of book I needed at this particular juncture of my life.
