Reading this book made me realize just how much I miss Anthony Bourdain. The book's co-author has pulled together a travel guide of sorts to many of Tony's favorite places, including many direct quotes from his writings and filmed dialogue. While I still have no interest in dining on cow and pig offal, I am certainly more motivated to get out and travel again, visit a bunch of new places and try great new foods. Including info about each locations airports, trains and taxis was a bit of a waste, but even some of those passages were made fun and witty by the inclusion of a Tony tidbit. If you are a Bourdain fan or just like to read about travel, I highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this book, but I didn't. This is more of a where did Tony stay, eat, how to get around, and what to do in each country. I'm really not sure who the target audience is. It may be a nice book to give someone who loved Anthony Bourdain's series, but it doesn't have his normal tone.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book.

I read maybe half of it and would likely reference for travel. It's more of a compilation of where he traveled and what he thought of those places and their food. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, many restaurant locations are closed but there are still some. Enjoyed the anecdotes from those who traveled with him and his brother.

The essays in this book were outstanding. Too bad there weren’t more. I still recommend this book. It wasn’t bad, just not what I wanted or expected. I didn’t expect a literal Zagat’s style travel guide. I know it’s in the title, but I’m pretty stupid.

It’s too niche. Not good for a casual read. Would be good to refer to a chapter when traveling in that area!

More a travel reference book than anything, it's still got some good nuggets of Bourdain in it. See: New York, Massachusetts, Mexico chapters.

Audiobook, good listen but it is long. Loved all the different narrators.
