Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

I liked Hatchet but it had many small flaws.

It was so repetitive that at one point I felt like tearing it into shreds but thankfully, I didn't.
The wilderness part was not that great either but it did capture my attention a few times.

If eating the berries made Brian sick, how come drinking the stagnant water with the plane leaking oils and the pilot's corpse did nothing?

It definitely isn't a favourite and I most probably won't re-read it unless I have nothing else to read, but I would recommend it to those who like reading short adventure stories.

I actually have nothing else to read right now, which is why I decided to start this.

Wow - this was an amazing read!
The characters were the best ! I actually hated Constance right up till the end which was when I suddenly started adoring her.
I don't read many mysteries, but I think this was one of the best mysteries I've ever read.

This book is awesome!!

I think it's considered a middle-grade fantasy, but for me, it almost felt like a mix of adventure, mystery and fantasy.

The only thing I was slightly critical of was the beginning, where
Spoiler Elizabeth immediately starts to get the feeling and strange things start to happen almost instantly.

It was so unpredictable and had me guessing till the last page.
I really did not understand the anagrams so I guess I'm not much of an "anagramizer".

It must have taken a lot of research though -- since there is no way I would have ever known that
Spoiler Elizabeth Somers could be "heartless zombie"
(or any of the anagrams, in fact) if it was not for this book!

It was also very informative and I learned a lot, including the fact that Santa Claus could be "casual ants"

I should probably start by saying that I'm not a fan of novels written in verse, in general. I don't know why the author decided to write it in verse. It made no sense to me.
This is my third re-read of this book and when I read it the first two times it just didn't work for me and there wasn't much change this time.
I bumped it up one more star because the cover is just gorgeous and I can't deny that!
Thoughts:
-Everything was arranged very haphazardly and in no particular order.
-Jaqueline is an excellent character and reading about her childhood was sad but also full of hope.
There is so much I want to say about this book but this is all I can think of right now.

So, I just finished this. And the two words that are stuck in my head - STANELY FORBES.
Actually, make that five words. Stanely Forbes, Pip and Ravi.

I think I liked how AGGGTM started off more, but I loved this one more, for two reasons. Stanely Forbes. And Ravi and Pip.

Though to be honest, it was so obvious that
Spoiler they were going to end up together
.

Unluckily for me, I finished the first two books too fast, without knowing that As Good As Dead will be released in August

Ugh this was terrible. And yes, it was obvious right from the first page of the first book that Maxon would choose America.
I don't think I want to continue this series...
