Beautifully written and a captivating story. I love a dreadful end, too! Very poetic and I enjoyed the idea quite a bit! Excited to read more from Kabbani!

Overall, this book tells a really incredible tale of the resilience of sisterhood. I enjoyed it and blew through it very quickly. Although I wish it wasn’t so repetitive and the timeline jumps around so much sometimes it’s hard to keep track. A good read for those True Crime folks, but not one on my top recommended list.

An absolute must read for all thriller/horror fans. Took me forever to get through because you just absolutely end up hating Jack. It’s hard to read all the intimate thoughts of hurting his family. Especially his son. The story does a great job of building up anxiety and each detail is thoughtfully written out. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

This was a fun one! I loved it and read it pretty quickly. For those horror fans, this definitely was more Young Adult, IMO. Not very scary & pretty PG, but I found it to hook me right in despite not caring much for YA. It’s well written and you become easily invested in the characters. Overall fun!
Nowhere for Very Long: The Unexpected Road to an Unconventional Life by Brianna Madia

I have been putting off reading this book for longer than I had originally intended. Because deep down I knew it would break my heart and make me a weepy mess. Brianna’s writing is not secretive or full of gray areas. I can see why some folks have trouble with some of her stories on social status, etc. We make mistakes. We are, by nature, flawed beings. Brianna encapsulates that human-ness we all share and brings it to life in her writing. A lot of other readers mention this book feeling more like a series of essays. At times I felt that way too, but to me it made her storytelling more authentic. True to her and I think true to how many of us narrate our own lives.

I’ve followed Brianna for so long. I’ve adored watching her adventures. As many of her other long time (and new) followers know, Brianna has been subject to vicious - I mean disgustingly vicious - online bullying and harassment. Brianna has no fear in just being open and honest - and has been doing so for some time online. Except, I’ve noticed is that everyone is so fucking mad about it. They hate that she shares the good, bad, and ugly. But truthfully, isn’t that why people follow influencers? We want to hear the thoughts rumbling around in their minds, their secrets, their successes and failures. Except, when they do so, some feel entitled to those thoughts and words. As if their opinion on what someone has shared online to a large platform is inherently “theirs.” Even if I had never followed her online, this book made me feel like Brianna was a friend I had known for many years.

I loved this book and look forward to reading much more of Madia’s work in the future.
The Navajo Nightmare by David Sodergren, Steve Stred

Such a fun read! I definitely enjoyed this one. I love westerns & I love horror. We need more in this genre!! I’m blowing through Sodergren’s books - just can’t get enough. Enjoyed the take on the dual writing, but thought it would be GREAT to see this as a series.

My biggest complaint is that this wasn’t long enough. I wanted the characters, especially in the 2nd half, to be more fleshed out. Sodergren does this so well, where Shred could have taken some more time on character development. I wanted to know more about Linda & her past. More about Carter & his losses. Especially, I wanted to read more about Lester.

Really hoping the western horror picks up - would love to read more like this! 4.5/5
