Once again, this feels like a book that can’t be given a rating.

I would say this is essential reading, it taught me a lot about Pakistan and the Taliban.

I liked the poems but none of them really amazed me, the haikus were not it though

I’m not really sure this is the type of book that can be given a rating. I liked it, I’m glad to have read it. Feeling grief over someone that you didn’t always agree with is certainly something I can relate to. This had a similar-ish vibe to ‘Love is a mixtape’ by Rob Sheffield, but instead of using music to cope with grief, Korean dishes and by extension culture is used to aid Michelle with her mourning.

I read this in school in 2019/2020 and didn’t understand it much. Rereading it in 2022 when I actually understand the Greek and Roman mythology references made this a fun read! It’s an incredibly interesting take on both heaven and hell, I’d definitely recommend it to someone trying to learn more about the renaissance era!

It didn’t have the ‘wow’ factor of a five star book, but it was a good mind cleanse after reading the shit show that was ‘Earthlings’ a couple days ago.

I love this author’s writing so much omg, but I can’t rate it any higher than 4 stars as it is only a short story

I love Miller’s appreciation of women, and the way she gave the ‘woman’ in Pygmalion’s story her own story and name is incredibly inspiring. Galatea did not choose to be born, but she did choose her death, and was able to take down her tormentor with her.

How can you rate the Iliad anything less than 5 stars 💀
