Loved this a lot! I think the writing is absolutely beautiful, it reminds me of the picture of Dorian Gray at times. I will say that I didn’t enjoy the portions about slavery and the fact that Louis was a slave owner, however it’s an important topic that I’m glad was discussed as it’s important not to forget what certain parts of history were for certain groups of people.
I look forward to reading the sequels when I have the time!

Quick read, funny and interesting!! Understanding the sarcasm in the essay is essential to its enjoyment. Also, it does describe women poorly (however this was written in 1720s so that isn’t much of a surprise)

Some funny poetry in here at a push, but a majority of them are outdated. I did like the John Donne poem and the poem about Matilda being a liar, so I’d say it’s a good read to learn of more poets and then go further into their work

I need to come back here when I have the ability to write a bit more, but I LOVED this so much. It’s different to the movie but they’re both so good that I’m excited to read the two sequels.

This was so hard to enjoy, I feel like everyone recommending this is only doing it because it has an LGBT couple, and nothing to do with the actual story. Though maybe I’m just not the right audience for it
