You know the drill by now, my names Emily and I love a cowboy romance 😂 this didn’t disappoint and I’m so glad I found Elsie Silver work this year! The setting, characters and romance are all brilliant. Definitely one to pick up!

I was completely drawn in by the premise of a romcom involving Death himself for spooky season this year but i wasn’t overly keen on this one! So much so I can’t really remember it but I do know I didn’t fly through it which says a lot for me and a romcom!

I started this before I went to the hairdressers as I knew I’d want something gripping and I was not disappointed! I was hooked from the very beginning. The premise of the book is that a woman is on a plane flown by her son except she keeps reliving the plane exploding again and again. It was really interesting and as I said I couldn’t put it down! Definitely one for the suspense thriller fans!

I fell for all the hype surrounding this book and was a little disappointed! I listened to the audio version and at first I couldn’t get into it at all. However, by the end the characters had grown on me and i struggled to put it down.
For me it was a middle of the road book but if you enjoy character based books you’ll probably really enjoy this!

Adam and Evie's Matchmaking Tour by Nora Nguyen

I had seen this book on bookstagram so I was looking forward to reading a book with zero preconceived ideas and I am so glad I did! It’s set in various locations across Vietnam and it was full of gorgeous scenery and escapism!
It was a slow burn romance between Adam and Evie but I loved the character building and the supporting characters on the matchmaking tour! This is one book that I actually wish I listened to as there were some Vietnamese names of people, places and meals that I know I was pronouncing wrong in my head! I think it’d make a gorgeous book to listen to!
This is your sign to pick up a book you’ve never seen on bookstagram before because you just might love it!

I’m pleased to say this series is getting better as it goes on. I’ll not go into my previous reviews on this post but you can read them on my grid if you wanted too.
I did listen to this book (and the second in the series) which I think made a big difference! The plot seemed tighter and the characters were likeable. It follows the same pattern as the others in the series - small town, outsider, cosy setting, romance. You know what you’re getting and if you like this format you’ll enjoy the book.

I was definitely pulled in by the Waterstones special edition of this book, after seeing it all over bookstagram I wasn’t sure it was for me but the sprayed edges pulled me in!
By the end of the book I did enjoy it, I actually ended up listening to the audiobook for most of it because honestly, at times it was way to wordy and there was a lot of descriptive paragraphs for things that I didn’t feel needed it. This is definitely a personal preference, I assume if you read a lot of fantasy that need world building you’ll be used to this writing style but for me it was too much I wanted to know about the characters and their relationships as opposed to the room they were in!
As I said I did enjoy it by the end but I thought it could have been 100 pages shorter! It was a good one to read in October without it being spooky and I’ll probably pick up another book by the author in the future!

I finally gave into the hype and read this book, once I knew it was being made into a film I knew I had to read it first! I’m glad I’ve read it because I did enjoy it, I loved the short chapters which made it very bingeable. I also liked that we as readers didn’t know who to trust, I was constantly going back and forth trying to decide what was real and what was being spun by the characters.
My only issue with it was that it was quite middle of the road for a thriller. By that I mean it wasn’t spooky or scary but it also wasn’t overly psychological in the way some of my favourite thrillers are!
I’ll definitely read more by the author in the future and I can’t wait for the film!

I know I’m obsessed but I love how easy to read these books are and they’re always happy, lighthearted and fun!
This book follows Violet Eaton (the sister from the heartless series!) and Cole. He’s grumpy and she’s sunshine, she’s a horse jockey and he’s a straight laced business man, she’s communicative and he’s a closed book but they’ve been secretly talking online.
I loved this, I found the first few chapters a little slower than previous books but I think that’s probably just because I knew I’d be flying through it once I was hooked and I was right - it made me want to stay up late and read and then open the book again as soon as I woke up!
I really enjoyed how this book tackled tougher subjects like mental health and PTSD as well as the gorgeous relationships between side characters! It’s amazing for world building and completely adds to the plot!
If you love a cowboy romance you’ll love this one! My only problem is that I don’t know what I’ll read when I’ve finished Elsie Silvers back catalogue 😂
