Rules for Being a Girl by Candace Bushnell, Katie Cotugno
4.0
Who is an author you've loved the longest?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
One of mine is definitely Candace Bushnell. I devoured SEX AND THE CITY and LIPSTICK JUNGLE when they first came out and she become my first auto-buy author. While she hasn't written much recently, I was so excited to snag this co-authored book by her!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is def a total girl power book. A great introduction for YA readers into the world of equal rights and conquering the imbalance of societal gender roles. I thought the authors did a fantastic job of showing the raw side of being a teenager in high school.

In My Dreams I Hold a Knife by Ashley Winstead
5.0
My friend raved about this book and I immediately went out to purchase it. At the time, I was in a huge reading slump and this little gem brought me back to bookish life!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
First, let me say BRAVO to author @ashleywinsteadbooks for a knock-out debut novel.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Six college friends are together for their ten-year reunion - the seventh was murdered during their college days. While they think they know whodunit, there are still many unanswered questions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This book is a twisty tale of uncovering past secrets, hidden evidence, and uncovering the truth from ten years ago.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While I did guess near the end the outcome, I thoroughly enjoyed this wild campus ride.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you're a fan of Pretty Little Liars or Riverdale, this book is for sure going to be a win for you!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
TW: infidelity, mental illness, rape, grief, murder

Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead by Elle Cosimano
4.0
Elle Cosimano is such an amazing writer! I loved her first book FINLAY DONOVAN IS KILLING IT. She has such a way of storytelling that sucks
The Cousins by Karen M. McManus
4.0
I love YA and I love a good whodunit. Karen M. McManus is always my go-to for that kind of duo.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This book is filled with family secrets hidden beneath Gucci bags. Our three not-so-close cousins are thrown together one summer and begin to unpack their family's dark past. Filled to the brim with family drama, multiple points of view, and tons of twists and turns.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Honestly one of the things I love most about McManus' writing is how well she handles multiple POVs. It's her signature style and it always has me on edge.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I loved the underlying family drama tone of this one and watching the relationships of the cousins develop. As many of you know, I'm super close to one of my cousins BUT I can definitely relate to having some "unknowns" about a few of my other ones

People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
4.0
This book was all over bookstagram over the summer and I was having THE WORST fomo. But I knew it would be the perfect book during our trip to Mexico.
I fell in love with Emily Henry when I read BEACH READ last year (like, I own that book physically, on audio, and digital. To say I "enjoyed" BEACH READ" is a severe understatement). I went into this book with super high expectations and ya girl did not disappoint.
Friends to Lovers trope is definitely my favorite type of love story - probably because Chad and I were best friends for three years before we dated. I loved the push and pull between Alex and Poppy's relationship. And when they finally crash into each other?
