One Night on the Island by Josie Silver

Josie Silver is queen of making me feel all my feelings. ONE DAY IN DECEMBER is absolutely one of my favorite books (which I re-read every winter) and TWO LIVES OF LYDIA BIRD butchered my heart. When I saw she had a third book being released, I knew I had to get my hands on it.

ONE NIGHT ON THE ISLAND is a perfect mix of wit, charm, romance, and self-discovery.

I loved the whole premise of this book: "When a solitary one-bedroom cabin is accidentally double-booked, the two lodgers find that although company was the last thing either of them wanted, it may be just the thing they both needed."

While this is a total romance, I feel it's so much more about self-discovery and self-love, finding friendships (and keeping them), and learning to listen to your heart while keeping your wits about you. Through gorgeous writing, I felt transported to Salvation Island and desperately wanted to live in Otter Lodge.

I have read a lot of books with wonderful relationship-characters, but Cleo and Mack will forever be one of my favorite literary couples.

This book will make a perfect winter read and make you wish you were curled up by the fire in a remote cabin off the sea in the middle of nowhere with someone you love.

Anticipated Pub Date: March 29, 2022

This books was the perfect holiday romance this year. I love a good book that's based around the theme of music and the friends to lovers trope is always my favorite.

I adored Nick and Noel and all the supporting characters. I loved that Hall put the playlist breakdown at the end of the book!

Nick and Noel are childhood besties. He dates her arch nemesis on and off for years, even while he's away in the army. Nick comes back home, he and ya girl breakup, and in an attempt to make ya girl (and Noel’s ex-lover) jealous - Nick and Noel share their first kiss which changes everythinggg

While I still need to read book 4, this little trio was such a thrill to read this year! I loved the whole premise behind The Bromance Bookclub and all the fellas involved.

Book 1 was my first 5-star read of 2021 and Book 2 & 3 have not disappointed. I loved Mack's character development in UNDERCOVER BROMANCE and I adored Gavin's rawness in THE BROMANCE BOOKCLUB. However, I genuinely think Noah and Alexis were my favorites in CRAZY STUPID BROMANCE!

I also love that friends to lovers trope and the sweetness of these two finding their passion and love for one another.

Zoe is career driven, feminist, & VERY anti-marriage - Hannah is Zoe's best friend & loves love - Rylan is Hannah's cousin, totally put together, successful, & surprisingly sweeps Zoe off her feet - Graham is Hannah's fiance who is totally adorable & part Irish - Ezra is Graham's brother, part Irish, brooding, & v sexy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Zoe considers herself a "bad luck bridesmaid" because the three weddings she's been in, none of the brides actually make it down the aisle. The final bride's lack of wedded bliss pushes Zoe over the edge and she cannot accept Rylan's proposal - enter total heartbreak

I went into this book not knowing much about Marie Antoinette, so some pets I had to go a little slower to play catch up, but still enjoyed the story through and through.

This was the PERFECT book to wrap up my holiday reading this season. Cue cozy holiday vibes, Scotland scenery, sisterly competition, and a book full of heart.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Carmen is a bit of a hot mess and loses her job, moves in with her parents and feels like nothing ever goes her way.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sofia is a total type-A personality, mother of three, gorgeous home, wonderful husband, and super uptight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When little sister Carmen loses her job, mom has the bright idea for her to move in with big sister Sofia, help take care of her nieces and nephew, and gets a job helping a struggling bookshop make a profitable turnaround (no pressure).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is a story of sisterly dynamics, holiday cheer, believing in yourself, and beautiful friendships with a dash of romance and thundersnow ❄️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is a staple to read every holiday season!
