Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton

Did not finish book. Stopped at 42%.
So repetitive and boring. The writing wasn't good enough to keep me interested, and there were just some sentences and phrases used that made me cringe so hard I wanted to put the book down (and usually did). I was determined to get to 50% before calling it quits and seeing what the smut was like, but even that was subpar in my opinion. I get better material while scrolling through my tumblr tags.

ALSO the main make character made no sense. How can he be so morally against kidnapoy and sex trafficking but simultaneously stalk this woman and want to hurt her? It would have made more sense for him to have a Christian Grey complex type of thing, like using sex to escape his reality and the trauma he sees and goes through and puts the terrible sex traffickers through.

I really enjoyed this! Especially getting so many perspectives on the topic of being childfree. It was great to read multiple different people's experiences and how the choice had effected their lives. As someone who doesn't think she wants kids, it was a really important read for me I think to see how others felt about their choice as people that have officially suck with it, if you know what I mean

I love history, but my scope is in the ancient world of Greece, Time, and a bit of Egyptian, so this was a very fun read though I had to take it slow. It isn't my favourite area of history, obviously, but Iove history in general and really enjoyed getting a perspective solely into these three women.

I really enjoyed this book! St John was annoying and very pushy, I'm glad Jane was a strong enough character to fight that part of him off. Mr Rochester ended up being a lot more enjoyable than I originally felt he would be when he was introduced and Bertha was a crazy little twist. His heart was huge and his love for Jane was very cute, I was so happy to see them together and happy in the end!

I really enjoyed this book and I'm glad to have finally find something about tiny traumas that I connect with. Arroll wrote a great book and conveyed her research and knowledge in a way that anyone can understand what she's explaining.

Not the best Christina Lauren book I've gotten my hands on so far. I'm used to smut from them and we didn't get much. Marriage of convenience is a fave trope and I did enjoy the way it was done, but I wasn't super invested in the couple or the story. I found Holland a little boring, or maybe just not as fleshed out as I'd have liked? Thank god lulu was cut off eventually she was a bad friend!

Good read but a little boring. Glad it wasn't too long.
