I don’t usually read memoirs and I wasn’t sure I was going to make it through this one. I’m so glad I stuck it out. After two years of feeling like no one cares about women or inequality or racism or social justice, I really needed to be inspired and she did just that. A wonderful reminder to live in the present but never stop fighting for a better future.

I’d like to give this 3.5 stars. I have read all three installments of the Cemetery of Forgotten Books. I loved The Shadow of the Wind. The Angel’s Game was good but left me with more questions than answers. The Prisoner of Heaven was half the length of the other two and not nearly as intriguing. I did really enjoy it and read it in one day. If I had not known it was part of a series and had not read the other two, I would have given it four stars for sure.

This felt like school reading, but the kind you don’t really mind all that much.
