It took me 2 months to get to the end of this, I don’t get it. I’ve read a lot of Japanese litterature recently but this really didn’t get through me. It was almost torture because it was so boring.

I’ve read that this book was dull cause « nothing happens » but I think it depicts perfectly the repetitive and draining aspect of a factory job, and how imperialism, colonialism, an capitalism just ruins people life. If you think this is dull, well, welcome to people’s true life. 

Amazing piece of litterature. I love  Michell Gallen!
