“𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴 𝘧𝘢𝘳. 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘷𝘦.”
My obsession with the Monsters of Faery continues to consume me.
Crown Prince Dain Sundamar has a lot going on physically: four arms, two tails, horns, scales, weird feet, and an alarmingly huge and fancy fae p33n. He is also very emotionally complex, and I absolutely loved witnessing Leah gently peel back all the layers to find the achingly sweet man beneath the monster.
Leah’s reticence to stay in Faery was understandable, but frustrating. I wanted so badly for her to give up and just love that poor sweet cinnamon roll! She took her sweet time, though, and helped Dain see himself as someone worthy of admiration and love rather than distaste and fear.
His mother was a piece of fucking work, and everyone in their court can go die in a fire for all I care. They were so mean to Dain and I wanted to fight everyone!
Once again, Mallory has woven a complex, sweet, spicy, fascinating story that I couldn’t put down. I can’t wait for more from this universe!

“𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘶𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘴, 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭. 𝘋𝘰 𝘐 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵?”
I’m not going to lie to you: I downloaded this book because the blurb said the MMC and FMC have to mate every 3 days or his basilisk gaze would kill her. I was like “ooh yes! Monster smüt!” And y’all. The spice was SPICY, but I was not prepared for the wild ride the plot sent me on!
Vaduin, Danica, and Cass now have a very special place in my heart. Despite his maddeningly avoidant attachment style, Vaduin is charming, sexy, and hilarious. I loved that cantankerous hissy boy immediately. Danica is relatably frustrated and anxious about her situation with Vaddy, and the way Mallory deals with her (and Vaduin’s) trauma is thoughtful and compassionate. Their relationship is a rollercoaster I didn’t want to get off, and watching them slowly come together was delightfully maddening.
And Cass! That sweet, gigantic himbo! I absolutely adore him and was so excited to see he is the MMC in the next book because I was not nearly ready to say goodbye to that cinnamon roll with razor blade wings 🥹
I really can’t recommend these books enough. Though this was 4th in the series, I quickly backtracked to start from the beginning and can’t wait for Crowned by the Fae King (releasing 8/15/24)!

“𝑩𝒆 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒆, 𝒃𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒉. 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒚.”
I love a good marriage of convenience, and already knew I loved the world of the Ever Seas, so I was beyond thrilled to get my grubby little hands on The Mist Thief. And I’m going to be honest…Jonas Eriksson is giving my beloved Erik Bloodsinger a run for his money after this book 🫠
Watching Jonas help Skadi break out of her misty shell and learn to embrace the monster within was achingly sweet. I loved seeing her being welcomed into House Eriksson with open arms after being feared by her own people for so long. Their unlikely pairing ends up being a blessing to both of them that neither saw coming.
Jonas and Skadi are equal parts sweet, funny, and ✨hot✨ together, and I enjoyed seeing more of the characters from the Ever Seas. I loved this book. The world L.J. Andrews has built is rich and exciting, and I never know what to expect next, but I always know it will be fun!
