Lovely heartwarming graphic novel about lost arts/crafts dying out and keeping them alive.
It was a lovely read before sleep after a finishing a heavy upsetting book.

It took me a while to get into this book but as soon as I hit 25% I couldn’t put it down and read the remaining 75% within 24 hours.
The main character Michael is so complicated. You’re rooting for him but also he’s done some heinous things so you want him to get what he deserves but you also understand that it’s how he was raised.
The twist wasn’t what I was expecting but as soon as it started to happen, I guessed the rest of the book.

I read this book as a beginner to reading and enjoyed it to begin with. Although the characters I find to be quite shallow and parts of the story disappointed me such as the conception of Emma’s son etc. I felt like so much more could have been done with the storyline
Verity by Colleen Hoover

Hoover could have done so much more with this. I found the ending to be a little surprising but more so confusing regarding Jeremy already knowing about So Be It etc. It could have done with about 5 more pages at the end to go into more depth regarding that.

I loved this book. I just found the first half a bit repetitive, going over information we already knew but just in a slightly different context.
Although I did find a lot of the information relevant to the rest of the book and how understand how Cathy’s OCD presented.
Stuart was a lovely portrayal of a genuine loving partner who gave her space and time to come to terms with everything herself however I don’t like the fact that he was also a psychologist. Why could he just be a normal guy with a regular job that was just a nice guy? It made it seem like it was his career that made him act the way he did around her.

What a book!!
This was suggested to me by a friend and I honestly don’t know what I was expecting but it was not that!
I felt like I was right there with Tierney. It was so easy for me to be drawn in and I couldn’t book this book down.
The story of the girls magic really made me think about my own teen years and how it can be related back to the real world. How males perceive girls at this time in their lives and what a massive effect that can have on those girls as they age.
The fact that the girls are the ones under a ‘spell’ of the men instead of the other way round.
Honestly would read another book as a follow on from this or even from a different point of view because I loved it and I want to know what happened afterwards.

This had me HOOKED from the beginning! I feel like it gave a lot of information to keep you wondering and guessing and trying to figure out the twists but not too much that it would give it away or make it confusing.
I loved the dual timelines too.
Would definitely recommend this book!!

A lovely little read! I read it as sort of a palette cleanser & thoroughly enjoyed it.
A cosy little story showing how books can bring people together.

So many thoughts in this book and I don’t know how I’m going to put them into words but I will try.
I loved the writing style, I also liked the way it went into the different parts of slaughter, preparation and consumption of meat to help us as a reader understand what’s involved. It invoked thoughts on veganism & how animals in slaughterhouses are treated in the real world, on game/trophy hunting and made me want to, once again, become vegetarian at a bare minimum.
It made me think more about capitalism, the government, the language that is used in society and how this all affects the general public.
‘She had the human look of a domesticated animal’
This book lead me down a path that made me believe he actually cared for Jasmine and maybe she would die in childbirth or they would continue to care for her in a way but how wrong was I?!
Maybe I will come back to this review when I’ve more time to process my thoughts.
