I wasn't sure exactly what to expect when I started this book. The beginning and end were AMAZING. I couldn't have asked for better.
While I definitely feel like there's still a lot to learn about the world, and more than a few unanswered questions, I loved this story. Finn is everything I want in a badass woman and Gideon has all the best parts of a villainous romance book.
The middle got a little slow and frankly too gorey for my taste, but the ending was completely worth the time spent to finish the book.
Overall I find myself excited for the next book and more of Finn kicking butt.

***This book did nothing half way. All of the violence and smut is very in your face and will likely make you uncomfortable

I read this once as a young teen and remembered enjoying it. I'm happy to say it was just as cute as an adult. It's definitely a lighter read. Something relaxing to end the day with and nothing too serious, but still entertaining and fun.

I remember loving this book as a teenager, but this was my first time rereading it as an adult. Honestly it read like a man's s3xual fantasy. Kahlan is so poorly written. Like he couldn't decide if he wanted a strong independent woman, or arm candy for Richard. So much of the book was sexual for no real reason. I honestly doubt I'll ever read it again. I'll stick to the tv show which was entertaining and not so twisted and lacking plot or growth.

This story was a favorite as a child and this was my first time rereading it as an adult. It did not disappoint.

The characters are wonderful, the perfect dose of cute, funny, and endearing. The story is heartwarming and light.

I especially love the audible version. The cast of voices make it even more enjoyable. And I love that Brian Jacques read them himself. His voice just sucks you into the story.

This is one I will continue to enjoy and look forward to sharing with my own children like my parents shared it with me.

I did really like this book. It was fluffy and cute. I loved the way it managed to bring out emotions for the characters. Beautifully written.

My major complaint: THE CLIFFHANGER!!!
It completely broke the romance rules of happy ending. Make sure you have access to book 2 before finishing this one.

The characters were loveable. Even spotting some of the plot twists early on, how they came about still managed to surprise me.

Over all, an enjoyable read.

While still a great book, Hero of Ages didn't live up to my expectations established by the first two.

The story felt slow, very long, and drawn out. The answers to many of the trilogy long mysteries were well thought out, but I feel like we waited so long to get them and the pacing was so strange that they lost some of their wow factor. I feel like the book could have been 100 pages shorter.

The deaths that occur at this point didn't surprise me. I've gotten used to Sanderson being absolutely ruthless. I did feel that some of the characters lost their relatability. They changes so drastically in this book that I lost my connection to them.

It's far from the worst ending I've ever read, but I feel like it could have been more satisfying.

I've been meaning to read the Odyssey for about 3 years, ever since discovering Epic the Musical on tiktok.
Well I finally did.

I feel like this story is the embodiment of a 4 year old's "and then what happened" energy.
So many twists and crazy adventures.
I did enjoy seeing the inspiration for Epic from start to finish.
Reading it definitely made me appreciate Jorge Herrans genius.
I don't know if it's a story I'll read over and over, but I can guarantee I'll be playing the epicthemusical music on repeat.

What an amazing book! I loved the continuation of this story. The characters, the plot, the twists and turns. It made me hopeful and sad, happy at times and brought me to tears. Sanderson is an amazing writer.

The book was cute. I'm a little biased because I grew up loving the mini series on dvd. So much of the story was identical that it was easy to picture, but there were enough changes to make it enjoyable to read. I'm excited that the books continue the story further than the movies. There were some differences which made the books feel more historically accurate, but the movies more entertaining. I'll probably read the next one.
