I enjoy Kaling's books. They aren't hard-hitting or life-changing but they are fun, funny, and easy to take in. I also really like that they are set up more essay style with short stories than one long narrative. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me is one that's been on my list to read for a while and overall, I'm not upset about reading it. I laughed. I pulled some lines to save in my favorite quotes. And I got exactly what I was expecting.

I enjoyed this read as a 'commuter read,' actually listening to the audiobook on my way to and from work. It wasn't overly complicated and it was easy to pick up and put down as needed. The last quarter or so of the book was a little expected but still enjoyable. I don't know if I'd go shouting recommendations from the rooftops but it was a good way to break in my 2021 reading list.
