If you're a fan of the Tiffany Aching, Discworld series, I think you'll find something to like here. Literally the only way this book would get less than five stars from me is because I want more. I'm hoping it is the start of a series that I can dive into. These characters have ensnared me.

A relatively boring story, not helped by a narrator's whose tone was that if one reading a jaunty Memoir rather than a haunting short story.

The story is just fine but the narrator is god awful with a girl's voice. I'll have to pick this one up in print and try again.

Not terribly written, but not terribly scary either

The author clearly had skills but none of the stories really gripped me.

Disappointing - the premise was interesting but the writing was mediocre and the gore overdone. The scene in the abandoned house had me picturing god-awful practical effects and CGI. I couldn't find it funny because of the subject matter, so there was absolutely no benefit in continuing to read.

I love horror for the gradual, creeping unease. I read horror for those authors that can play my nerves like violin strings. I don't read horror because I want an unrealistic description of a gross (not scary, just gross) situation. Again, it’s a shame because I was very excited to read this book based on the blurb.
