Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

As a child when I used to watch the news with my family I remember noticing a segment where they showed how enthusiastically thousands of teenagers used to wait in line to buy a single book from the Harry Potter series. I never understood their obsession until I read the book myself. Though I must confess that if I had bought this book when I a few years younger I would have loved it even more. It is the perfect example of a beautifully written fantasy novel with the most interesting adventures. I recommend it to all the peeps aged 16 or less as they would like the book more. I give this book a 4 out of 5.

The book A Thousand Splendid Suns made me weep from within. It is the first time I read a book so real and so touching. This story showed me a side of Afghanistan I never knew of, about the wars and terrorists. It portrayed how much the women in Afghanistan suffered during that phase. I got attached to the main characters so much that I *literally* felt the pain and hardships they went through. The story was written very strikingly, it was written so understandably that I figured out the pattern of who ruled Afghanistan after their Kingship was taken over. I loved Khaled Hosseini's writing style! I suggest this book to everyone who would like to read something real and heart-touching for a change.

Over the years I have noticed that the things which starts roughly for me ends quite finely. The same thing occurred when I read the book Rebel of the Sands. At the beginning of this book I found it quite unreal. But slowly I started liking the lively and interesting character of Amani Al'Hiza. I loved her confidence and intelligence. Even though the story was a little prolonged at first I liked it in the end. After reading the last chapter I asked the little part of my mind if I would like to read the sequel of this book, and it said yes. I would give this book a 3/5.
Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa Alsanea

For the past few years, I have mostly read books that were either comedic, thriller or contemporary, so the book ‘Girls of Riyadh’ by Rajaa Alsanea was quite a different type of book for me and it had a huge impact on me, which changed me in a better way.
The novel describes the relationship between men and women in Saudi Arabia and tells the story of four college-age friends, girls looking for love but stymied by a system that allows them only limited freedom and has very specific expectations and demands. There’s little contact between men and women, especially single teens and adults, but modern technology has changed that a bit, leading to young men trying everything to get women to take down their mobile numbers.
The internet is also a new medium that can’t contain women and their thoughts like the old system could, and the anonymous narrator of the novel takes advantage of that; she presents her stories in the form of e-mails that she sends out weekly to any Saudi address she can find.
I got attached to this book the moment I started reading it as it was the first time I read a book that offered a glimpse of reality in it. It made me gain wisdom without making me go through the harsh experiences the girls of Riyadh went through. I couldn’t make myself read another book for a whole week because I couldn’t get over how intelligently the book was written. I embraced the book and kept looking at the wall of my room for a few minutes and kept wondering if there will ever be a book as good as this again.

‘Girls of Riyadh’ is a really good read; I suggest it to all the girls out there especially the ones who are living in the Middle East as they will be able to relate themselves and their lives with it.
Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

This book gave me a reading slump, really! This is the first time I read a Morgan Matson book and I honestly couldn't have been more disapointed. All the chapters of this book were unnecessarily prolonged and the ending was very unsatisfying. Never judge a book by its cover, or it's writer! I wasted exactly 1 month and 20 days after this book. .

P.S I Still Love You is one of my favorite book especially because it explains every difficult situation in the most hilarious and quirky way. This squeal was much better than its first book ‘To all the boys I’ve Loved Before’. The first part of this series had some boring chapters but PSISLY was interesting from the beginning till the end. It’s a very cute story, I suggest you all read it if you’re wishing to read something awesome in romance. I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars

Cinder had quite an interesting plot, but it was unnecessarily prolonged. I zoned out 3 times in different days while reading it. There were some chapters where I totally got attached to the story and some chapters which were oddly boring. I was very unsatisfied by the ending but the suspense overwhelmed me. If you would like to finish a book very slowly; Cinder would be your best choice. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5.
The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Rodriguez

The little coffee shop of Kabul. It started pretty slowly and I almost stopped reading it, until a few chapters later; things got real. I read and understood things I never imagined happened in this world. I read about a world where being a chauvinist was a proud thing to be. It saddened me deeply to know that people out there still lives in a world so unfair and nasty. This book showed a part of this world which I didn’t hear of on TV. The writing style was a little fast, situations and problems resolved quite quickly. But overall it was good. I would give it a 3 out of 5 stars. *Spoiler* I’m just glad that everything turned out well for everyone in the end. I love happy endings.
Newt's Emerald by Garth Nix

While reading the book Newt’s Emerald, I sensed that it was forcefully written. As if the publishers forced the writer to write it fast or else to return back the advance payment. It was a plain meaningless book. The only thing that was written nicely in this book was the description, for which I actually bought this. The cover looked stunning too, and that’s it. This story was SO long and SO boring, I never felt so bored while reading a book. I didn’t feel like reading ti! Can you believe that? That’s how lame this book was. The worst part of this book was the ending. Even though it had a happy ending; I just didn’t feel it. I would give it a 1 out of 5 stars for wasting my time (and money).
