A fast-paced story for short attention spans and age appropriate action! The plot keeps you invested, no matter your age, and the characters are fun, unique, and filled with historical knowledge. This would be a great series for readers who are new to chapter books; I recommend to early readers around 8 - 12 years old!

I started this and it almost made me late for an event because I kept saying "one more chapter". Then, I got home from said event and finished it.

This was my first manga, so, I have no idea how to review manga other than I loved it and need the next volume.

"Love could exist in the darkest places."

The Whisperers of Evernow is an inspiring fantasy story focusing on sibling relationships and overcoming tyranny. This book illustrates the power of whispers that unify people in the face of adversity and how a unified people can conquer even the worst of foes.

I loved the characters so much. They were easy to root for and while the story moved quickly, the flow felt natural. I especially liked that there were so many players in the plot and that the main characters were often just as surprised as the reader at the new developments; it made the book impossible to predict and therefore I was fully invested all the way to the end.

I do recommend the book with caution, however, because there are some dark themes of captivity and frankly, I could've done without the POV chapters from the villain. Granted, the POV chapters made me hate the villain as much as everyone else did, so it was well-done, but there is a lot of vulgar language used in his POV (especially sexism) that may make some readers uncomfortable. There are no graphic scenes, however, it's all thoughts and dialogue.

Overall, I'm a bit torn on how to rate the book because on one hand, I couldn't put it down and finished it in 2 days; which usually warrants a 5 star rating from me. However, I did feel a bit uncomfortable with the villain's POV and spent most of his chapters skipping and skimming, so, I'm going to call it 4.5 stars, but round it up on sites that don't accept halves.

Abigail Hammond has yet to release a book that I don't devour in one sitting. Her books are so binge-able and I always feel immensely happy and satisfied with her endings. Dear Patience, Sincerely Lucy was no different!

Lucy's life could easily have represented mine at one time; the go-getter, boss babe, successful woman who survives off of coffee, stress, and a to-do list that never ends. But what's great about Lucy is that she enjoys it... until she doesn't. The illustration of burnout is so well written in this story; how even though you can be good at something and enjoy it for a time, you can only run 100 mph for something you don't love for so long. Eventually, you burnout and start looking for something else, and I loved following Lucy on that journey.

Another thing that I appreciated in this book was that the woman who Lucy works for isn't portrayed as a heartless villain who only loves her job. The woman has her passion and direction in life all sorted and while she's not exactly "loveable", I actually really liked her and appreciated her character. Some women enjoy the fast-paced life and some don't, and I loved that the woman and Lucy respected each other, even in the face of opposing life goals.

Overall, I can't recommend this book enough to the women who feel like they're stuck in a routine they never signed up for. This book will give you that spark to pick up your old hobby and find yourself again.

Aimed at workplace communication, but it's a really great foundation for communication in general. Viewing communication as a tool, learning to disengage from unproductive arguments, and recognizing toxic communication behaviors in yourself and others. Great for relationship communication because it give solid:

What to do
Why do it
Things to remember
How to implement it

Overall, I recommend it for anyone wanting to dig deeper into productive communication; be it in the workplace or outside of.
