Not the best Dramione fic I've read but it was certainly interesting. The spice scenes were, whoa mama 🥵🌶🌶Loved Draco's characterisation up until the end
when he abandons everyone and goes to live with the muggles as a muggle, because wtf? that was seriously OOC and honestly just jarring

A great ending to the saga, I really enjoyed following all the characters and watching them grow and develop. Andy and Shae are real ones. The ending felt very neat and appropriate, especially as it ended in the same place the story began. Amazing book series overall and one of my favourite urban fantasies.

Top tier world building, I wish I could visit Janloon. The political intrigue and warring of the clans was very exciting, lots of plot twists and unexpected turns that took the story further and had me at the edge of my seat. The Kaul family dynamics are so realistic, every character is so fleshed out and I can't help but root and feel for all of them. I love the dynamic between Shae and Wen in particular. I only wish there had been more action, merely because I love how well Fonda Lee writes her action scenes. Also, HOW does Bero just keep surviving???

At times Yarros really bogs you down with unnecessary details that don't really add anything useful or meaningful to the story or narrative. Just a quagmire of boring military tactical conversations between multiple characters that could have been summarised into something more concise and interesting. Said multiple characters feel stagnant, we don't get any more details about most of them in this book and so these people who are meant to be Violet's best friends feel two dimensional at best, inconsequential at worst. The pacing of the story was weird, sometimes going on and on about insignificant details and then suddenly skipping ahead. First 30 chapters felt like a chore to read. The ending was...anticlimactic? Weird? Stupid? I don't know. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Don't ask me why, probably because of Xaden's abs.
I feel that 3.25 stars is actually pretty generous of me though.
