I loved, loved  this book!!! 

You really get to know all the main characters. What motivates and drives them. 
I found the magic system so unique and interesting . The whole world building is done in such a non exposition sort of way you really get to experience getting to know it bit by bit. 
 I cant wait to read the next book in the series.

It was very hard for me to rate this book. On the one hand I still love the world of the others and nearly all the characters. On the other though, I felt that this book should either have been the 3rd or 4th in the series or an additional short novella to tie some unfinished plots. It seemed so stretched out. The "baddie" in the book was just so unimpressive in comparison to the last book. In fact the same thing can be said about the whole story. 

Despite the above I still enjoyed reading Etched in Bone and plan to check out other books from the Others .
