LOVE LOVE LOVE OBSESSED. Aaliyah is relatable and lovable and tbh just a bad bitch. Her close relationships are wonderful — fuck her uncle Al. He can eat a dick — but everyone else? And Ahmad?! The man that you ARE but FUCK you all could communicate better. I ate this book UUUPPPP and def want more!
I enjoyed this book and the chemistry between the characters — I am such a sucker for the overly possessive “touch her and die” trope it’s almost on the brink of insanity and Dash encapsulates that trait perfectly. I love the POC rep so much and adds so much to the story! Towards the ending, Bianca being upset but literally everything she does in her state? Feels immature which is the reason for the lower rating. Did I get my HEA? Yes but tbh— her reaction to finding out his secret feels so beyond over the top. Especially when she was in as deep as she was at the point and so deliriously happy? For something that truly isn’t his fault — her ex is still a POS 🤷🏽♀️ anyways. I will be reading book 2 🩷
When her bf abandons her at a party, Bianca attempts to leave when 2 drunks outside grope her chest before she manages to spot Dash and she saves her from their grubby hands
This was a cute quick read — a rugged mountain man and a curvy city girl meet when she’s trying to figure life out and it’s an immediate fall in love at first sight type of thing. Short novella that I thought was too cute and worth the less than an hour it took me to complete :)
This installment was so good 😭 I am obsessed with Rose — she’s unbelievably relatable and FIONN? be still my beating HEART. I love them — I love the overlapping story lines, reminding me of the books I loved so much in this little book world. Their growth made me CRY. Literally sob I’m not letting you go - i never will will forever be ingrained in my mind and heart ❤️ The best friends to lovers trope feels HELLA slept on and the added story and just in general wild-ness that is their lives adds to this one. I loved it so much. 5 stars again Brynne.
This book got me— every girl deserves a man to love them like Ronaldo loves Gigi. I just wish I could have seen them have a happy ever after. It was smutty but full of such tension and longing.
I was hooked on the premise from the get go but then I fell in LOOOOOVE with Justin hardcore. That man is dreamy and romantic and everything and the lengths he is willing to go to. Like they say “If he wanted, he would” and that is JUSTIN right there. And throw in the dramatics of their TRAUMATIC situations they are each enduring simultaneously. The things Emma and Justin would discuss had me crying as someone who suffers from family trauma and grief. The growth of both of them
Choosing empathy over anger Choosing to see the good, the reasons they choose to do what they do vs how you feel about the decision..
This book was too cute. Freya and Mac are so clearly made for each other from page 1 - it’s so clear. Her thoughts are my thoughts a lot of the time. We know how society sees us — there’s no getting around it. She’s so cute but damn is she naive and ignorant for someone almost 30 (not me turning 30 this year too) the Never Have I Ever scene gave me SUCHHHHH SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT!!!
SPOILER ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
The 3rd act breakup was hard — Mac said TERRIBLE things to push Freya away. As someone who suffered terrible grief myself (at a MUCH younger age granted) I somewhat understand his feelings in this aspect but DAMN. He’s 33 years old— he should know better. But we get the HEA we all want and DAMN was it exactly needed and enveloped their relationship perfectly
tbh Ali Hazelwood is easily my favorite author. ✨OLIVE & ADAM MENTION MADE MY HEART SOAAAAAR✨ Okay anyways, I am OBSESSED that Ali decided to write a sports romance and ITS STILL A “STEMINIST” romance! I love it so much— I love a girl who is so smart And the BDSM aspect? YESSS. We are normalizing consent and kink and being upfront about contraception and STI testing. Lukas is A DREAM. The OWD is AGGRAVATING but it IS NOT WHAT YOU HATERS think I PROMISE.
I am so happy to have preordered and read this ASAP because it’s in the top reads of the year FOR SURE
A sapphic romance between a black cat energy veteran soccer player and the golden retriever energy newbie.
So much LGBTQ+ rep brought into the story — it warmed my heart to read about the side characters just as much as watching Grace and Phoebe fall in love did. I’m obsessed.
The mental health rep? Love. As someone with ADHD myself, this was so relatable. And Grace possibly discovering her own diagnosis in the process? Iconic. This book was a breath of fresh air I didn’t know I needed.
The spice was great too, Phoebe is the definition of Chappell Roan’s unreleased SNL song the Giver (iykyk)
I am in my mafia romance eraaaaaa. I cannot get enough of this Universe. I was smitten with the story from the get-go: her cheating husband’s estranged half brother? And then the secret??! And the insta connection? The groveling? The pining? The chase?
this would have gotten 5 stars if not for the PERCEIVED cheating. I literally almost stopped reading the book. I was so angry and it felt like it did nothing for the story besides cause a break up with the ultimate betrayal — HULLOOOOO she found out ON HER WEDDING DAY AFTERRRRR THE CEREMONY her POS husband was a cheater and now the PERFECT man comes around and he “cheats” too? Fuck no. ABSOLUTELY NOT. But I read more reviews and decided to push through.
No regrets 🤷🏽♀️ I love Jax and Sofia so much and hearing about Jax with Maeve made MY ovaries EXPLODE.
