It is indeed a heartbreakingly innocent book. It was really interesting to get into a schizophrenic mind, and the story was also good, but I still think the book lacks something I'm not sure about. Maybe I expected something more, but I cannot deny the fact that the book is good and that it is worthy to be read.

I would very much like this series to never end.

I found it tedious and blunt. I enjoyed how real and accurate the historical context seemed, but the writing made it impossible for me to care about any of the characters or have any feelings about what they went through.
I did like the throwbacks, the reveal and the ending, but I prefer more complex historical fiction (or fiction, for that matter) in terms of the writing style, the plot and the development of the characters.
3.5 stars.
