The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson

No spoilers, but the ending of this book was EASILY a 5/5. However, the first half or so is really slow and I can't give the whole big a great review because of it.

That said, it's definitely worth the slow pace to get to that ending. If you're having second thoughts, but loved the first book, push on through.

The first half of this book is really slow. another 3/4ths of the way into the book, and I was still unsure what the point was.

The ending of this book was fantastic, and I can easily see how this was a huge influence for the future of cyberpunk.

Solid near future sci-fi with corporate espionage, but holds hands a little too much. I still thoroughly enjoyed it, but couldn't go higher than a 4.

This series is great, and this book was a solid middle book. Not a spoiler, but the ending is a pretty big cliffhanger, so be ready to read the 3rd book right away.

Very interesting, and not nearly as negative as the title suggests. I agree with much of this book, but not all of it. Empathy does have its failings, but a lack of empathy with regards to public policy would be just as negative.

This book is written similar to World War Z, and much of the action is portrayed via interviews or comm logs after the fact. I definitely enjoyed this style, and the story kept me engaged.

This book was a great ending to the series. There are some mysteries left to resolve, so I'm happy there will be more books set in this universe. The story is great, the characters are interesting and multidimensional, and this book series is a very inclusive one in many ways.

This series has easily become one of my favorite of all time.

This series is unlike any other sci-fi book I have read. The main protagonist resolves conflict with her intelligence despite her own self-doubt. Binti is easily one of the most courageous characters that I have read about recently. She pushes forward even though she isn't a fighter, puts herself in the middle of danger a stands up to things others would back down from.

The character Binti is fantastic, and I would love to see more protagonists written like her.
