I can't believe this is a debut novel! If you love mafia romance with a major possessive alpha-hole you are going to devour this duet! This is the story of Wren and Lex whose families are rivals. Lex takes Wren for his own in the name of revenge, and it instantly gets really heated. If you love a super sassy strong as hell FMC Wren is your girl! This book was super-fast paced and almost insta lust. I would have loved to see a little more intimate moments for relationship growth, but this book full of action and I binged it in a day! The plot twist at the end of book one was insane!

I love a good dystopian society, and this one did not disappoint. I listened to the audiobook, and I need to take a second to praise Lucy Rivers, because she not only played the FMCs and all the MMCs, but she was also the last woman in the world as far as she was aware and was traveling to find the cure meaning she came in contact with MULTIPLE men that she had to narrate. The narration was unreal and it had to be a massive feat. WAY TO GO! Back to the story.... I loved this concept and I love a good strong FMC. I loved seeing the character growth and the very beginnings of a why choose romance. Don't expect a ton of spice in this book because it's more world building and character introductions, but this series has a lot of potential to be amazing.

I am enthralled with this story line and the concept of this story line. I can't wait to see more of the boys story develop in the next installment of the series. I did find some of the momentum was broken when it continually went back and forth between past and present, but I was so interested in the suspense of the plot that only played a small factor for me. The angst amongst among these five was so palpable and really attested to all the hurt feelings and past betrayal. There's a lot of dark elements and heavy themes so check your trigger warnings. This is the story of Beasty and the MMC's Lake, Atlas, Joaquin, and Kim. They all meet under sad circumstances as children and these boys find the need to protect Beasty throughout her life for the kindness she initially bestowed upon them. Beasty betrays them, which is a bit of a mystery this early on in the series as to which why, but it leaves these boys with bitter feelings along with their conflicting feelings of love and possession.

I am so excited to add another body guard romance to my shelf because it's definitely a trope that is lacking amongst my other reads! I listened to the audiobook of this read where Molly Briar (the author! How cool is that?) and Jason Clarke narrated the book together and I loved this duet style narration. There was so many special moments in this audio narration including live singing that made this narration so enjoyable! The story itself is a slow burn romance about a singer, Jestiny, who is trying to reconnect with herself and discover her identity in the music world and her newly hired body guard, Chris, who has a love for music itself. Overall it was a sweet and heartfelt read with great chemistry between the characters.

This book was honestly a quick easy read. There's not a lot of fluff. It's straight to the point has great banter, and is a fun fast past read. I wish maybe the ending had a little more substance to it starting with the big climax that the book had been leading up to, but I enjoyed the rest of the book so much it didn't deter me from having an amazing time. I laughed, I blushed, and I got everything I love in a bul!y romance. There was great tension and angst between the MCs.

This book was so insanely spicy, it should come with a warning not to even attempt to read it in public. I ate up every second of it! I had to use so many of my Goodreads shelves for all the k$nks in this book. There's just something electric about the chemistry between these five. I love how you have an established found family, and how they open up to bring in one more into their fold. I love how well it shows a polyamorous relationship, the struggles, and the ever-evolving dynamics. There was also some feels, and I think book two is going to destroy me before making me whole again. I can't wait for part two.

Driving My Obsession by Lauren Biel

Lauren Biel does dark and unhinged like no other. I love the unique plots she has going throughout this standalone series. I'm also in love with the names for both of these two, Oaklyn and Ambrose. I love the we have an obsessive MMC, although sometimes I felt like his feelings were too on the fence, and I was rooting for him to just claim her as his! I basically binged this book because it was so dark, spicy, and a lot of fun!
