Villainous Kingpin by Eva Winners
4.5
4.5/5 stars!
I'm so in love with this mafia book! This book was full of action which I adore in a mafia romance. He's possessive, protective, and totally obsessed... plus he's a little unhinged. I loved that the FMC also had some sass and was strong. Also, we get a glimpse at what I hope are some of the other MMCs of future books, and let me tell you, I am already obsessed with Priest. There was a few good plot twists that gave the book a little bit of suspense as well. The audiobook was great! If you want a dark mafia audiobook that is done in duet, I highly recommend.

The Season of Secrets by Q.B. Tyler

4.75 / 5 stars!
Okay, so here's the thing about me.... I usually avoid any time of winter holiday themed books like the plague because they're always so Hallmarky and cheesy.... PROVED. ME. WRONG. This book was so spicy I was squirming in my seat. Can you say Daddy??? Also, can you say show me the money? I would crawl to this man publicly on the office floor. The pacing was perfect, the age gap was done both tastefully but with keeping it a fast burn. This man is so sweet and doting, but also filthy! Q.B. Tyler your spice is top tier, and also my car now needs detailed... *insert blush* ... Send you my bill? Also, big round of applause for the narrators because I loved this duet narration! Definitely in my top for the year.
What to expect:
Work place romance
Age gap
He falls first
Spicy AF
Daddy?
Holidayish themed

From Here to Eternity by A.L. Jackson
5.0
I am always such a big fan of A.L Jackson books, but this might be my favorite plot twist she's ever pulled. My mind was absolutely blown, and I was in tears of some sort of strange mix of all the feels, complete disbelief, and utter relief. This romantic suspense had me hooked from the beginning with the best 'who hurt you' vibes and a protective MMC with a savior complex to die for. Tragic past and a heroine in need of saving, honestly this book hit all the tropes and executed them perfectly. Also, can we talk about how much I love the narrator pick for this duel style audiobook? The whole thing was utter perfection, and it's going to have me in a massive hangover.
What to expect:
Romantic contemporary suspense with darker themes boarder lining dark romance
Single Parent
Plot twist of a lifetime
Found family
Small town
Tragic past and Who Hurt You?

This was a great spicy quick read! I've never read a gamer romance before, but I think I'm going to put more on my list. The audiobook was fantastic, and the voices really fit the character's description very well. The spice was top tier, and for such a short read I felt like the pacing was good. I had a great time with this one!
I am Dressed in Sin by C.M. Stunich

4/5 star!
I love a sassy AF FMC and some bad boys in an MMC. I didn't realize this was a series, sooooo I actually started on book two, but I still kept up and had a great time. I'll probably go back and read book one because I'm missing the whole scene that landed her in trouble in the first place. I love the character development C.M. Stunich always has. This book has a lot of high action, but there was a lot of repetetive dialogue that made this book slow in certain spots. That being said, I love the world and I'm excited for book one and three!

Briar Valley: The Complete Duet by J. Rose
4.75
"Broken wings can still fly. You are living proof of that."
Book 1: 5/5 stars!
I am going to be obsessed with this book for a long while and for multiple reasons. This is a new take on a small town romance. This small town is made of log cabins in the woods built by neighbors for those who are lost, broken, and on the run. The valley is 'a home for lost things and a found family rather than that of blood.' Willow fleas to this town with nothing but a name she hopes will save and hide her from her abusive husband. She not only finds shelter and refuge amongst this town, but she finds three mountain men that are determined to see her broken wings fly again. I have so much love for the cover, the title, the plot, and these characters. Also, the twin sandwich, yes you saw correctly, will also live rent free in my head.... so there's that. This plot was unique and thrilling! I loved the mental health representation we see and the love that can soothe away the pain from past trauma. This book is emotional, thrilling, and spicy as hell.
Read if you love slow burns, why choose, dark romance, tragic pasts, found family, and single mom trope.
"I spent a decade living in empty spaces - the place between existing and living. The desolation. The darkness. The unknown. But that space I mentioned? Well, that's where wild things grow."
Book 2:
This found family gives me all the feels. I am so happy to be in this small town with people that take care of one another no questions asked. The hurt and the pain this whole town suffers feels so raw and real. The mental health representation and the struggles with anxiety and depression are so passionately done I hurt with them. This single mom has the most love and fight I've ever seen. The spice is top tier, and this family is just precious. This book gave me all the feels, and I was so invested in these characters. I am so happy to see a HEA for them all.
This is the second book in the duet of a small town, why choose romance. Single parent trope with a little taboo mixed in and a lot of spice.
