Corruptible: Who Gets Power and How It Changes Us by Brian Klaas

While it is clear that the author is educated on the topic, at times it felt like he was writing just to write leaving the reader with no clear conclusions. Additionally, the author neglected to examine how systems like (white supremacy or capitalism) play into the situations he speaks about. Overall there was way too much anecdotal evidence and not enough clear indications on why such corruption occurs.

Wow what an impactful and interesting set of speeches! Despite these words being from 1987 they feel so progressive and still so timely. In my opinion we can learn a-lot  from this man and his outlook on life.

fav quote:
“If we lose the fight to liberate women we will have lost all right to hope for a positive transformation of our society into something superior. Our revo- lution will then have no meaning. It is to wage this noble struggle that all of us, men and women, are summoned.”

Pride & Protest is such an amazing retelling of pride and prejudice! I loved all the side characters and the romance between Liza and Dorsey! 4/5
