Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez

What I enjoyed most about this book was how time is woven together and the moments of discomfort I experienced when reading moments of love that would now be seen as forbidden or then seen as forbidden and now normal. The writing is beautiful, though the story’s end will not be noted as a memorable one for me.

Enjoyed the content - the framework (the four Ps) is a simple and agreeable summary for this approach of learning which my techniques are also captured by. Focused less on how to extend the approach outside of grade school than expected.

Did not enjoy the writing style. Some parts were repetitive, the focus on scratch and clubhouses did not stay engaging throughout the book and name dropping seemed to be the entry into a story too often.

2,5 stars...maybe. Interesting twist. Use of irony was ok. Writing didn’t impress me. Felt the author and Alicia had the same writing style/voice (in her journal entries). Didn’t connect with the characters or portrayals of love or mental illness.

Would not recommend.
