Ugh, I’m so sad I didn’t like this book more. I LOVE Neal, but this book was trying to teach me something but it made it juuuuuuust out of reach for me to put into words. Just like the characters in the book, I feel the wisps of the lessons here, but I need someone to lead me to it.

Very very quick read — but a cute little story! I enjoyed it a lot, especially as an adult who kind of understood the mom’s struggles throughout the story. Very well written.

I tried to read this book YEARS ago but the JARGON IN IT — MY GOD. I only got maybe a quarter of the way through. This time I pushed through it only to learn about THE HOMOPHONES — MY GOD.

Clever writing idea but difficult to read book.

I liked all the different kids of poems included (and their descriptions) but I didn’t like that none of the poems had anything to do with any of the other poems.

Omg EASILY one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. This book does what One of Us is Lying TRIED to do and KILLED IT (pun intended). Must read the sequel ASAP!!

ETA: I read almost the entire book on a four hour plane ride. It was literally that good I couldn’t stop reading. Also I just looked and the sequel has even better reviews than this one?????? NEED!!!

Took me a while to start this book again — I started it and didn’t finish last year. It helped to watch the show as I read. The show sticks very well to the story!

I really really loved this story. I could picture the whole thing from start to end and I thought parts of it were SUPER well written. I do feel like she’s written the perfect knot of a story to unravel, so that’s a little meh that you can almost guess how the next book is going to turn out, but I loved the characters anyway and can’t wait to read book 2!
