Jacob. Rhodes. I cannot say anything more about this... ok, I'll try...
I've been obsessed with Jacob since Twisted Obsession Prequel: Meeting Melody first came out in was first released in Silent Night: A Dark Romance Anthology last December. And this book did NOT disappoint. I was worried after reading Secret Obsession and getting a few chapters about Jacob that it wouldn't live up to the introduction we got, but I should have known... it definitely did.
If you don't like walking red flags... probably better to skip this whole series. But if you've gotten this far with S. Massery, you're probably like me and don't mind (or definitely love) them in your fictional men. It's like reading a horror story... I don't want to live it, but it sure is fun to pretend for a while, right?
I also love how the group is so tight knit that we end up with an intro or preview of the next story in each book... I haven't been a huge fan of Knox, for reasons, but I have to admit that I am more curious about his story now (Fierce Obsession).

I've said it before, but there is not enough dystopian RH romance out in the world (at least that I've found). Rebecca has delivered an incredible series that accomplishes this perfectly, in my opinion.
This book is thicc, coming in at over 700 pages. But I read it in a little over a day (while still adulting, but admittedly not much sleeping, bc I just couldn't put it down). It didn't drag at all, the pacing felt very well done, and while some may think there is too much insta-love, it feels perfectly reasonable in a time when contact with people is scarce and you're always worried how that interaction will go in the first place. If you were starved of contact for years, I think you'd probably fall head-over-heels in love with the first nice (and incredibly attractive) person(s) to cross your path... I mean, I probably would anyway. π€·π»ββοΈ
We also got a lot more depth from the main Brutes and Eden, while also meeting quite a few new side characters. The relationship building was well done and I really believed everything that happened for each character was true to their personality. Does that mean I LIKED everything they did? Not really... but what's a love story without a little angst and frustration, right?
If you haven't read Ensnared yet but this review made you curious, I would highly recommend giving the series a try. The audio for Ensnared is TOP TIER and I cannot wait to do a reread of the first two books on audio before the reading the third!

Omg... this audio... I couldn't have asked for a better cast of narrators, every single one of them. Between the amazing story and the incredible duet (full-cast) narration, I will be listening to this often!

There is not enough dystopian romance... especially of the why-choose variety. So when I saw this one, I jumped on it. And I loved it.
I love all of the characters and their relationships with each other. The men are all different with their own distinct personalities and quirks. It's never really hard to tell them apart, which I appreciate so much in a why-choose romance. They all bring something to our leading lady (and to each other, having been surviving together for years).
I'm absolutely π at the cliffhanger ending... hurry up book 2! π
