I picked this book up the day it was released after waiting what seems like forever for it and it did not disappoint! I truly enjoyed the way the Author wrote the story with enough character building to help us love (or hate) the characters but also a good amount of world building to feel fully connected to the world so we are not only rooting for our characters to succeed based off our connection to them but our connection and desire to see them make this world they are in a better place. I found myself fully connected to each and every one of the characters in the book no matter how small a roll they played it was all important for the story to truly come together.

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.

This book had a little of everything from fun banter to swoony lines lots of humor and personal growth for both our main characters. I really enjoyed reading about this couple and their challenges throughout their relationship not only in the current day story line but also getting good look into their history so we are really able to connect with them and how they ended up where they are at the beginning of the book.

Thank you Net-Galley for allowing me the opportunity to read this book before release.

I unfortunately am very conflicted about how I feel about this book. I have been a long-time reader and fan of all Nora Roberts Trilogies but this 2nd book really suffered from 2nd book syndrome full of filler and extended character events without progressing the main storyline or plot in any real way. We do get history of a few more of the Lost Brides and Dobbs but it just felt very forced together to fill in the gaps so that the finale won't be too long. I do love watching the characters grow and the atmosphere of the Manor but I do wish we would have got just a little more versatility in the action so that it didn't feel so much like rinse and repeat from every "event" from the first book. I will pick up the 3rd book since I know we will get all the action and final answers to all the questions we have left.
