This was a cute quick read. I fell in love with Breaker though Lia drove me nuts off and on during the whole first 50% then she kinda started growing on me when she found her backbone. I loved the Friendship even the parts that made me cringe. over all this was a good read and now that I know there are 2 other brothers with books in this series I will probably return to the Cane brothers and enjoy their stories as well .

I enjoyed the premise of this book and thought the writing was easy to adapt to even though it was historically based. The story was a bit slow and dragged on in some areas with very little drama and when we did get the drama it was over within a few pages and didn't give long enough for us to feel the full amount of emotions the scenes should have caused. all in all if your looking for a witchy Historical book this one is a decent choice.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I fell in love with these characters in book 1 and was so excited to join them on this adventure of self-discovery and battles and friendship this series needs to be talked about more and I would love a real-life Kit all his good and bad I just melt for him. The ending had me on the edge of my seat and Alora drives me crazy! This book had me giggling and gasping and just out right wrecked.

We start Dawn of the Darkest Day with a coup, a terrified father, and a secret bargain that will change his daughter's life forever. In one POV of this story we follow Ara as she is ripped away from the life and people she loves and cherishes and is thrown into a whirlwind of assassination attempts a broody husband she despises and friends found in unexpected places. Ara discovers betrayal at every turn and learns to trust in the one person she never imagined she could. From the other point of view we follow Stedd who had his whole family murdered was forced to be a refugee and found love and friendship just to have it ripped away. He struggles with the truth of his circumstance as his feelings change and he learns to live for himself and what he wants. As their paths cross off and on in the story we watch them both grow into themselves and learn the hard way where to place their trust, not every friend is trustworthy, and some decisions come with consequences to all. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.

I want to start by thanking Entangled and Netgalley for this ARC.

I did finish this book in it entirety though I honestly can't say I would read it again. In the beginning, the main MMC is supposed to be I believe 18 and reads like a love-sick 13-year-old. Fast forward to the now and it felt forced when they grew into adults who still read like they have the minds of teenagers but the whole logical pov and algorithm made it hard to really connect to any of the characters let alone their "love" for each other. While I didn't fully enjoy this book it was decent writing and I could see where the specific Audience would absolutely love the story so I am giving it a 3 star.

This book was so amazing and so emotional at the same time. Being the fifth and final book in this series I was so excited to read it and A.K Mulford did not disappoint. We get to follow Carys as she struggles with her past and present and learning to accept what will be what should be and what was. Her internal struggles felt so real and raw and it was easy to relate to her and hurt for her and root for her. The ending was not what I expected but wraps up this world so wonderfully. I do wish as I have with the whole series that we got more of the whole group together those scenes are always my favorite.

The Majority of this book did not feel like a thriller but it was an entertaining read and the ending was pretty decent.
